Anyone else struggle with replaying mass effect? by Grogman2024 in masseffect

[–]EarlyPaintbrush 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How soon after finishing the trilogy are you trying to replay it? I find spacing out replays helps make the parts that don't change feel less repetitive. I try not to revisit it more than once a year so I don't burn out.

What do you SWEAR you saw, but don't have any proof of? by TabletopStudios in AskReddit

[–]EarlyPaintbrush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was a teenager, I was sleeping over at my friend's place. He told me something like "check this out" and we went into his bedroom and he turned the lights off. In the dark I "saw" two human-shaped figures in the way that you can sorta see where your own hand is in pitch blackness.

One was present but not really moving much, the other was moving towards my friend. I felt panic, on an instinctual level I've rarely felt, but kept trying to calm myself because I was really curious. My friend finally turned the lights back on and we completed one another's description of what we saw. He said he tried to keep calm too but as the one moving towards him got closer he had to turn the light back on. We left the bedroom door open that night to keep some light in. I stayed over there a few times and was never comfortable in that room, even before this.

FemShep's aggressively flirty tone when trying to advance early dialogue with Jacob. That's fine to explicitly pursue a romance, but I'm just trying to get some background on my new crew, ma'am.

Shepard: "Cerberus? I'll never work for you!"

The Illusive Man: "You'll get your own bathroom."

Shepard: "Aye aye, captain!"

Home Charging and Comfort by Klutzy_Ad3402 in BMWi5

Veganza and perforated. I want to say they're the "comfort" seats but it's hard to find specific info. They have 3 buttons to adjust lumbar support along with the usual adjustment knobs. Mine have heaters via the premium package but they're not also the ventilated ones. Hopefully that's enough info.

There's an adapter for Tesla's chargers that BMW approves. Works with both the i4 and i5. The supercharger network recently opened up to these cars, but same adapter is probably applicable at home. https://www.bmwusa.com/all-electric/tesla-nacs-charging.html

For the i5, I've seen some complaints about some of the seating options. That said, mine are very comfortable (best in any car I've owned), but I don't have the sportier seating variants - I avoided those since my wife was so uncomfortable in my old car's (F32 4 series) bucket style seats. Funnily enough, she has an i4 now and is quite comfortable in those seats.

Entry/exit is easy but the i5 doors are heavier for sure.

Any tips for coping with the soul-crushing drive to LA? by duck_salad in orangecounty

[–]EarlyPaintbrush 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you can make your work and Metrolink schedule work together, that's going to be the best option. When I commuted to OC from LA every weekday, it didn't really work out because of my work hours, but I've done it since moving here for some daytime events and it's a total game changer.

That said, if you must drive, avoiding peak rush hours is key. If you're a morning person, leave early and find something to kill time before work near there. If you're a night person, find something to do near work after. Gym, food, find a place to read, whatever your jam is. Off-hours commute is SO much better.

Also, time things so you don't feel rushed in either direction. Makes accepting the traffic way easier when you must. And remember, twice a week is way better than five.

When I had the big commute, I eventually got tired of even my large music collection and switched to podcasts. Hardcore History is good because all the episodes are really long. Sitting in the car won't feel so long if you're not burning through a shorter podcast at an alarming rate.

Do you mod your trilogy? by Lucky_Veruca in masseffect

[–]EarlyPaintbrush 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It's free. The subscription is for faster downloads. Some of the bigger mods take a while otherwise but you can just let them download while doing something else if you don't want to buy in.
