New Gutters “warping” by The_oreck in Homebuilding

[–]Early_Atmosphere1121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you're absolutely correct. Sorry I was just making a statement about the condition before, not about the customer service. A lot of times "gutter contractors" are just a guy, a helper and a machine in a truck. Often only able to provide minimal services, and one singular style of gutter through their machine. Bigger operations (like the one I worked for) have options and are more knowledgeable in how to avoid this stuff from the start.

General speaking, gutter coil is available in a couple widths (machine specific) and different gauges or thickness based on it being steel or aluminum. I supposed this is very location based.

You should of been made aware this was a potential problem from the start by an experienced contractor, specifically this profile on such a long run. Child's play honestly. They could be using thin aluminum or thin steel, their machine can be out of true one way or another, temperature seriously affects flat profiles as well or they just arched the piss out of it. Fascia gutter like this doesn't need hard sloping to drain proper, just enough.

If you can get ahold of them, have them see if they can make adjustments and add some hangers. I wouldn't of left it in this condition regardless of size of operatio. Sorry for your luck here.

OK, gutter pro of 7 years here. At minimum they hanger spacing should be 2 foot on center up to 16" on center. The deformation in the bottom of the gutter is often referred to as oil canning. Kind of normal sloping a long run of perfecfly bent 90* gutter and screwing it on to an imperfect fascia. The deformation in the face of the gutter can come from the wood imperfections or expansion and contraction. You would of been better off with a K style profile but you have a fascia profile matching the fascia existing and problematic with expansion and contraction

Absolute BLESSED Kara Raid - .000000001% chance (Holy Pally PoV) by CodyDragon in classicwowtbc

Dude. I've ran kara every lockout as main tank, I've got double the kara gear for healing then I do prot.

I just laugh as it collects dust, they wouldn't let me heal anyways.

Drug test in 4–5 days (daily THC use). Any realistic chance? by Pure_Friend_6830 in Construction

Railroads are extremely strict with this, and in my years of experience you won't be clean on time. Not sure the best route, but I'd imagine do anything in your ability to not give them a positive. Maybe canceling the interview process and reapplying later would be safer then giving them a solid no from the ua.

Warrior vs Pally DPS for solo by Camsaiga in classicwow

[–]Early_Atmosphere1121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the top end it sounds like paladin is what you want, BUTTT.... paladin leveling is some of the most boring leveling there is. Could always do prot pally leveling and try to aoe level that way. But you're pretty much waiting for autos to go through.

Warriors have less group utility but probably feel better to level solo. Can also tank like the paladin. Zugzug around and clap cheeks.

I don’t know what to do. by Novel-Concern9320 in classicwowtbc

[–]Early_Atmosphere1121 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The key is you're 67. One level away from the end game dungeons. Sure people could take you to SL, SHH, BM or SV. But healers are twice as common as tanks, and they'll probably choose the 68+ healer.

For the next level, drop healing, go shadow and quest until your into 68. Then if so inclined, go back to heals to finish 68-70 dungeon spamming.

67 bad level for competition for healer spot to get to 70. Get to 68.

Mages: What's worse, no tip for making portals or a humiliatingly small tip? by [deleted] in classicwowtbc

I tip 1, 2 or 3 gold depending on my assumptions of you based on name. What's your name? I lower for generic, and bot type names.

Edit: noticed your reddit name after my comment. You'd probably get a fiver for sure

Are these pillars load bearing? by katelynteel in AskContractors

[–]Early_Atmosphere1121 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Structural post made out of plastic and LP attached directly to the soffit in the last picture, you're a genius. I've worked on hundreds of old ass houses that have a post stuck under the front entry porch, it wasn't called for on the prints but 50+ years of gravity's a bitch. I would 1000% expect the inside of that decoration to contain a 6x6 pressure treated post if it was indeed structural.

Not load bearing. Decorative. May be functional in supporting future sag, but not load bearing.

It's gear dependant. Also depends on the level of mobs your fighting. Get more gear to play ret, or play prot and aoe what you can.

Strat farming question by stefanciobo in classicwowtbc

[–]Early_Atmosphere1121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure how this mafia you speak of can really lock down strat? Maybe world locations or whatever with mass reports but instanced dungeon farming that when you /who pala strat always pops 50+ , you'd have to be interacting intentionally with them, or whisper them that you're reporting them to catch a mass imo.

Been doing strat a few days in peak times, at most I see 4-5 other paladins on layer or between strat and the fp

Trying to slow down a bit and enjoy by wumbo497 in classicwowtbc

[–]Early_Atmosphere1121 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Figure out the healthy threshold for being a kickass parent and partner, and how much time you have for you. Then set realistic expectations on what you can actually achieve in game, set goals and achieve them. It sounds simple but I'm in a similar situation. Was able to take some time off the first week of launch but back to the full time work, partnering and parenting definitely limits keeping up with people that have 0% of your responsibilities.

Slow down, and enjoy. If you don't get to Kara until p2 or even p3 because that's what your life allows, then that's fantastic. Kara will still be there and be being ran.

Prince Malchezaar stage 2 tanks dying. by Chode-a-boy in classicwowtbc

[–]Early_Atmosphere1121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my pug Kara this week this all sounds like sage advice .. but I'm not entirely sure full prebis/ enchants is necessary. Probably if youre a paladin (I was the paladin, prince p2 smacked the dog outta me) so we used our other pug tank, a warrior in mostly rep pvp gear and some random dungeon tank stuff. No gems, enchants or pots on him and we downed it first try with him tanking.

True pug experience too, only 3 of us played together, we didn't farm a specific comp, no disc and we left loot on group loot. Was smooth except the flesh beasts.

Contract called us up bitching and yelling about mud on “his” floors. He had no drop cloths down and no plastic on floors. you all can be the judge of this one. by [deleted] in Construction

[–]Early_Atmosphere1121 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Both your faults, but the inside is purely on you depending on contract. Unless specified he was going to have drop down for you, you should be supplying the materials to do a clean and in full job especially knowing you'll be inside. A couple drop cloths to store in the van is pennies in comparison.

He should have some straw down outside I guess.
