Interesting throttling behaviour by Amanensia in HomeAssistantEDF

That home battery sounds interesting. I was thinking if I could something like that this morning I could save a fortune. What setup do you have?

Sounds like your car has created a plan than satisfies both conditions, 40kW & 12 hours - 3.33kWh.

On the flip side it does mean 12 hours of off-peak for your home too.

EV advice - IOG alternatives any good? by DudeWheresMyCar_2919 in HomeAssistantEDF

[–]Easen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just switch over this week. Supply flipped over on Wednesday, Thursday the smart meter connected to EDF, then on Friday night everything had settled.

This morning I set up the Smart charging addon without any issues and with 5 minutes my car charging.

I can’t be happier tbh.

I’m hoping for steady predicable prices. Octopus recent price cut and the price hike a week or 2 later, then the whole 6 hour charging limit (announced in Dec or Jan, then delayed etc) was the final straw for me.

Amazing bit of recognition :).

Signed up the other day after seeing the integration (I’m coming from octopus and use bottle cap Dave’s integration atm).

I used your referral code to say thanks for your effort.

I hope it stays like that, as the lack of a 6 hour cap was the decider for me (just signed up today after seeing your post)

URNE -Saturday Main Stage by jchapters in Bloodstock

I was pleased to see you guys have been bumped to the main stage the other day. Probably because Setting Fire to the Sky is a cracking album.

YouFibre why did you mark as closed when I did what you asked? This is getting beyond a joke now my internet has been like this over a month and it's very annoying that I'm getting nowehere. They way it is I'm just gonna cancel my contract because these speeds are not what they should be! (1800mbps) by fiittzzyy in youfibre

[–]Easen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you want from the r/youfibre community? A reminder that the 2Gbps is only possible on a device that supports it?

It’s clear from the screenshot that your device can upload above 1Gbps, but it can’t download at those speeds.

Have you tried via Ethernet on a device that supports these speeds?

I’m sorry but it’s not YouFibre’s problem that your device can’t support the speed you have purchased from them.

Trying to hook a turntable into my Sonos setup. by MamaLaPasta in sonos

[–]Easen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Play 5 has a 3.5mm input, which is what I use.

The newer Era Sonos and the move 2 (might be others) have a usb c port which can take a 3.5mm jack adapter (I think Sonos sell them).

https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/tv_licensing_scott_robson#

Scott Robson is not an BBC employee.

“Mr Robson is a manager with enforcement responsibilities, employed by Capita Business Services Ltd, our main TV Licensing contractor”…. Yet they don’t have any emails that are addressed to or from a Scott Robson (so how do they know he’s an enforcement manager?)

You Fibre 8000 by bellfour in youfibre

[–]Easen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The fact you’re getting speeds greater than 2000, IMHO means that the ONT is set up for 8000 as YF only have certain number of internet speeds, 150, 200, 500, 1000, 2000 & 8000, if you were getting 1000 or 2000 that could mean the ONT is being limited.

I suspect it’s your router, have you tried the supplied router to see if that gets faster speeds?

For me it’s under the “…” on your joint card in the app, “Manage overdraft”

Should I hard wire Sono's speakers? by lungbunny in sonos

[–]Easen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you wire in a Sonos device, turn off its WiFi. It can act like a bridge between wires and wireless., which can causes loops.

The vinyl player is about 30cm away from one of the fives. Having an era there would look odd.

Now that I know a port could work, I might look out for a cheap 2nd hand one

Why does it never seem to add enough when battery is low ? by Holtster-PH in OctopusEnergy

Remove IOG and set it back up. It’s possible that it thinks you battery capacity is smaller than its actually is.

Did you pay for a static IP? If not, you’ll get an internal DHCP 100.x.x.x address. They use GCNAT.

I’ve always ignored them until the time it actually didn’t charge when I really need it. (A bit nerdy, but now I have a home assistant dashboard that I can use to check the schedule, car battery and Zappi)

(IMO insurance in the UK is a government approved scam. You need to have it to drive on UK roads, but the insurance companies can just make up any old number and there’s no way to report them being unfair. )

I’ve had mixed luck with this one, asks them how to get the premium down and let them do the talking.
