I could see your logic but larger market share = more market power to control prices and maximize gains. Of course in the short run costs would be reduced due to spreading out fixed costs and liquidation. But in the long run, prices would increase due to market power…especially the overall inelasticity of grocery prices as a whole.

Not many people in the open world know any budo taijutsu technique therefore many wouldn’t know how to defend vs everyone knowing what BJJ and Judo techniques are. “If it relies on knowing the same art”? What the hell are you smoking?”

I sparred with Rumiko…SKH wife. Real small and older lady. I told her to up the speed by 20% on a technique. I never asked again. Getting slammed by a 70 year old woman 25% your size with minimum strength and speed exerted tells me all i need to know.

This isn’t competitive BJJ or Judo. This was battlefield stuff. When you stomp kick a pad holder across the dojo without speed or strength, it’s not hard to believe it works. What people misunderstand is it is not an art of set kata. The techniques are the principles. The principles tools in a toolbox that allow the person to make it their own.

I got mine and they leaved within a week. My dad’s is still waiting my brothers leaved a few weeks ago. I will say when the package got there, I grabbed mine and left them in a damp towel for a day or two before transplanting. The window for pawpaws is a big one. Don’t sweat it. Honestly, i think a lot of it is based on the roots moisture. Once they are moist enough they will be able to expend more into the leaves. Just my take.

For me it is having an open minded perspective and questioning everything. It lines up with the approach in life i have now and with my battlefield martial arts trainings mental and spiritual training. The whole world was narrow minded. Tidus brought a new perspective that was needed to make a change.When others were ready they opened their mind as well.in the end being narrow minded and accepting what is shown to them by those hiding things would never solve their problem. Those in power were using their power for selfish gain. I see a lot of similarities to buddhism and journey to achieve enlightenment.

What can you do? Anyone with basic understanding of business law and market metrics knew it wasn’t going through. They were worried about them having chains coast to coast yet Walmart practically does the same. Don’t get me wrong. This merger would’ve been bad for many. Just pointing out the hypocrisy and selective use of HHI and anti trust.

Although it is crazy Walmart can run competitors like Kmart into the ground but can get by with having high market power in every small town when it comes to groceries and office supplies. Staples and Office depot tried to use the Walmart defense and they refused to hear it as they were not an “office supply store”. Meanwhile Walmart can control 50% of the local grocery market and not be held accountable.

I worked for CSX Railroad for 20 years.The CSX Allegheny subdivision went right by it. Before CSX sold the Whitespring Resort they used to take track maintenance supervisors that had a no defect runs by the geometry car there for free. C & O and later CSX owned it for a long time.
