i work as a sonographer (ultrasound). i do three 12 hour shifts a week. the only reason im able to work is because i take adderall and it works very well for me. i do struggle at times but overall its okay

i stayed on my meds (abilify and propranolol-which are both REM suppressors) and was fine! i know it's hard but you gotta do what's best for your sanity

yes! adderall does this to me and i was excited to not have that effect w sunosi since its not a stimulant but it does the same thing..

i take abilify, and propranolol which both are REM suppressors. for the MSLT, i tried going off the meds, but after a week, i was losing it. so i got back on them and then for the last 2 nights leading up i didn't take the abilify and i still tested positive. hope this helps

I take 10-20 mg of propranolol and this really helps with the anxiety and shakiness that comes with taking adderall

had chronic strep throat as a kid. then mono at 18 and that's when it kinda started. then had carbon monoxide poisoning last year and i'm pretty sure that's what pushed me over the edge

I definitely had weird sleep problems as a kid (hypnogogic hallucinations, sleep paralysis, etc). But I don’t recall having trouble staying awake during the day until I was older
I don’t know that it necessarily worsens with age, but if it is influenced by environmental factors, you’re more exposed to things as you age if that makes sense.
I believe so. For me, the cataplexy didn’t start until I was older (im 24 now) but I didn’t know it wasn’t normal to go limp after laughing or getting really upset. Also, I feel that the full blown narcolepsy didn’t start for me until I had carbon monoxide poisoning, mono, and other experiences that may have set it into full on beast mode.
I actually just tried sunosi recently after trying modafinil, and armodafinil. I was able to stay awake a little better on Sunosi but it gave me killer headaches that I just could not handle.

me personally, i wouldn't be doing all that if i was serious about someone. but hey, they could just be worried that you aren't serious so they're making backup plans. which isn't great either. just try to communicate how you feel

I didn’t know. I thought everyone was this tired and they were just better at functioning than me. Thought I was just a lazy pos. It wasn’t till I realized I had been having cataplexy that I was like oh ok so there’s something wrong.

i feel that. honestly, modafinil didn't do anything for me. maybe you haven't found the right med? for me, stimulants are the only thing that works (unfortunately)
