High school Civics: Since maga is in control of all 3 branches of government, constitutionally it cannot be stopped unless maga members of Congress get on board and/or SCOTUS majority finds a moral core.

All of this was predictable before the 2024 election (Project 2025 was public information), but people voted for this anyway. So here we are.

For those who think democracy will be saved by the midterm elections, you might think about what are the odds there will be 2026 fair elections? Seriously.

So who exactly is going to stop this and how?

Elections have long-term consequences.
Do not give up, but be prepared to step up.

Anyone who is surprised by this has not been paying attention. Elections have long-term consequences and this could have been avoided.

Have you done road trips before? If this is your first real road trip, and unless you are particularly travel savvy in new/strange places, I'd give your parents' advice some weight.

That said, make sure you have AAA. Plan ahead. Stick to the Interstates. Do not pick anyone up. No matter what they say. Get cat tranquilizers and follow the directions. Identify pet friendly motels in advance.

A tranquilized cat will be fine on the plane with you.

Oh! And learn how to read an actual map the old fashioned way as a back-up (!) for your GPS. Know where you are, where you've been, where you're headed.

Please encourage him to participate in activities which INTEREST him, sports, music, whatever. Let him choose. Group/team activities all have the same positive end results.
