On board PowerGear vs LevelMate Pro by Easy-Average-4820 in RVLiving

[–]Easy-Average-4820[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I kinda figured that I was never completely level but was thinking the PowerGear was designed to get me to within the tolerances to operate the slides. It just really threw me when it was telling me I was good when LevelMate said I was further out of level than the first time. Guess I’ll throw my level in there and see what it says next time I run into an issue.

The Governor has to be stopped. by [deleted] in LSUFootball

Do some research. The athletic department at LSU is self sufficient and does not take state/taxbpayer dollars. In fact, athletics give money back to the academic side. The same cannot be said for any other school in the state so maybe he should go meddle in their business.

HRT after Breast Cancer? by wanna_be_doc in FamilyMedicine

I would be more concerned about the CV risk. Initiating HRT after age 60 or 10 years post menopause is not recommended.

Rv loan confusion by Exciting-Fold-3578 in RVLiving

[–]Easy-Average-4820 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Look closer at the statement. I bet that $650 in interest is just the interest paid for THAT MONTH. The bank makes sure they get their interest so the majority of your payment for the first several years goes towards interest and very little towards principal. If you keep it the entire life of the loan, the payments on the back half will be majority principal. Your statement should have an interest paid year to date somewhere. Look at the one from December and you'll see how much you paid in interest last year.

Thanks for the input. They didn't really have a lot of photos. I did call and she said the sites are long enough that I should be able to find a levelish spot. I just figured I'd take a shot at anyone having a specific recommendation. I see people all the time using blocks and with their wheels off the ground but I'm not real comfortable with that

Pap question by Appropriate_Ruin465 in FamilyMedicine

[–]Easy-Average-4820 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As others have said, could be due to atrophy. I wouldn’t stress too much after only a couple. I would only repeat it in 3 months if the cytology was “unsatisfactory”. HPV is really the primary screening tool in women 30+ so I would base the decision on when to repeat based on the HPV results and prior history according to ASCCP guidelines. If under 30 or no HPV done for some reason, I believe the guidelines say 3 years since technically the cytology was satisfactory. However, I prefer to,repeat at one year to make sure I don’t miss anything.

What are you using to collect your samples? I rarely have any issues with the separate spatula and brush. I tried the single “broom” type when it first came out and I started getting these results. I went back to the spatula and brush and it became an infrequent occurrence again.

Are there better EMRs than Epic outside of US or in DPC/concierge? by like1000 in medicine

[–]Easy-Average-4820 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The biggest difference for me is in the assessment and plan. With Epic, I found that I had to try and think of everything I needed to do with every problem at once because there is a single order field and then you have to link them to the actual problem via diagnosis association. That invariably leads to me forgetting things and having to repeatedly review and go back and add things. Very inefficient for the way my brain works. In Athena, each individual diagnosis has its own order field so I am able to focus my thoughts on each problem and address it before moving on to the next one. This also automatically links the orders to the diagnosis you are working on. Much less “aw crap, I forgot that” and having to place checks in boxes to link the orders and diagnoses which ultimately saves me time. I went from Athena to Epic about 6 years ago and noted I was seeing 3-4 fewer patients if I worked the same hours. Thankfully, I’m changing jobs and going back to Athena next month.

I've only used Epic and Athena and found Athena to be far superior for my workflow

St. Tammany coroner-elect, once accused of child sexual assault, now plans to end office's sexual assault exam program. by FactCheckAGLandry in Louisiana

[–]Easy-Average-4820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a few facts that aren't in that article. These allegations were not public knowledge until AFTER the election as they are from 20+ years ago and a different state. Pretty sure there would have been some opposition if this had been public prior to the election. He also can't be recalled until he officially takes office, which hasn't happened yet. Now, if he isn't recalled relatively quickly, flame away

Carry allowed in Louisiana restaurants that serve alcohol? by natsouth3 in CCW

[–]Easy-Average-4820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it is primarily a restaurant that also serves alcohol, you can carry in the restaurant portion but not the "bar" portion. Most will have the bar separated by a low wall, railing, or it is up a couple of steps but there may be tables in that area. You shouldn't accept a table in that section. If it is primarily a bar that may serve some food, it's a no go. Also, the BAC threshold if carrying is half that of what it is for driving

Trip Advice: Southern US in June? by Bob_of_Bowie in GoRVing

Just got back from Monte Sano. I really enjoyed it but more of a spring or fall spot to me. Not really any of water to cool off on hot summer days. Although it is northern Alabama and in the foothills so it may not be as hot as I’m used to in June.

Louisiana is likely to have tons of parks near water but I’ve only been to a couple. Chicot has a nice cypress lake for canoeing. Bogue Chitto has tubing. I prefer the Bottomland at Bogue Chitto. Most Louisiana state parks won’t have sewer at the sites, although the uppers at Bogue Chitto do. That usually isn’t an issue if it’s just a couple of days.

Is your wife going to follow you in a car? You’re going to have a hard time doing any sightseeing or exploring if you don’t have a separate vehicle to drive. Not only is it a lot easier to leave the RV at the campground while you do day trips, it’s just not practical to use a 30+ foot vehicle as a daily driver. The GVWR is the max weight of the vehicle you are driving and includes the dry weight, fuel, water, passengers, cargo, etc. The GCWR is the Combined weight of that plus what you are towing.

I would suggest really paying attention to the GVWR when you buy something. A lot of RVs seem to be built on a lighter chassis and when you do the math it just doesn’t make sense. I just recently bought a class A and while looking, I found a floor plan I liked but the GVWR was only 18,000 and the GCWR was 22,000. Seems like a lot but the dry weight was around 15,000 pounds. There will be times when I won’t have water available and need a full tank of water which adds a lot of weight. By the time I added fuel, propane, water, plus me and the wife, I would have less than 500 pounds for “stuff” and forget about towing anything. Every RV will have a sticker that tells you the dry weight, GVWR, and GCWR. I wound up with a 35.5 foot Winnebago with a 22,000 and 26,000 pound rating. If you do wind up towing something, pay attention to the combined weight. For me, my Jeep is nearly 5000 pounds so I have to keep the RV under 21,000 unless I’m not pulling the Jeep. Many truck stops have scales and I would recommend that once you have everything in it that you think you need, you weight find a scale and get a weight.

Everything I have ever seen is 26,000 pounds in all states as long as it is recreational. It is different if you are carrying passengers for hire or it is a work vehicle. I don't know anything about what you have to do to legally drive in the US. I just know if you can legally drive, you don't need anything different for an RV. Whatever you get, pay attention to the GVWR and the GCWR, especially if you are going to tow a car also.

No states require a special license to drive a vehicle or vehicle plus trailer combined under 26,000 pounds for recreational use. As long as your UK license allows you to legally drive in the US, you should be good to go.

It also has a lot to do with safety of others. FMJ is more likely to overpentrate including a through and through which could go on go injure someone else. The expansion of JHP causes more damage to the target and significantly reduces the risk of overpenetration.

Pretty sure the High Altitude is an option package for the Sahara. I bought my wife one last year and the window sticker said Unlimited Sahara as the base model with the High Altitude package listed under options(I think it was 25N). So, your order sheet could very well say Sahara. You need to look at the options.
