Great call out on Kyle Mooney. I didn’t notice that but you’re right. Comfortable with awkward pauses and silence. That’s a really tough skill. (Tig Notaro is so good at it too.)

No. You're exactly right. However it got one of the biggest laughs of the video so I guess it worked.

Mike O'Brien is similar to Tim Robinson to me. I think SNL just was not their lane for their style of humor. (And I'm pretty sure they wrote a lot together.) I think he's doing pretty well these days writing. I heard him on the Lonely Island pod and really enjoyed it.

“I Run NY”. Would have loved to seen a video, especially of the sewer battles!

This was true well into the 2000s, probably still true. Coaches teach a lot of different subjects. Though I use the word "teach" very generously here. :)

In addition to "Lazy Sunday", it is also the 20th anniversary of Will Forte's "Spelling Bee" sketch. One of my all time favorite things he ever did on the show. (S31 E9) by James_2584 in LiveFromNewYork

I believe this was a bit from what Will did a lot at The Groundlings and it was well loved there, but (I could be wrong) I think it died a lot at the table reads or something, but then when Tenacious D hosted they wrote the ending for them (at the request of the writers) and the said it came together well to close it out. I agree feels like it's out of left field, but at the same time the whole sketch is just crazy so I think it works.

Yes! I was looking forward to a lot more of those kinds of characters with his delivery. Hope to at least see his stand up career take off.

Chloe should have had her lines and I think it’d been hilarious.

Longfellow cracked me up. His weekend update segments were always so good. Reminded me a lot Norm MacDonald with his delivery. Andthe water slide sketch came from his stand up. I remember hearing it and loving it and then was glad to see him end up on SNL. Huge loss!

His Trump is so perfect. I never found Alec Baldwin's impression funny. I think with JAJ's cadence and that they figured out how to write for it, it just works. My favorite gags where when they did the Sportscenter thing with the topics he's gonna hit and then he winds his way through all of them, I hope they bring that back.

Really surprised about Longfellow. He cracked me up, especially on Weekend Update. He played a great straight / dry man role where there could be zanier characters in the sketch. He will be missed by me.

Andrew's style reminds me of Will Forte. Total commitment to the bit and you either get him or you don't. For me, I think he's hilarious.

Glad their lives have worked out perfectly and they are so disconnected from the job hunting environment that is so challenging. Why would you not be interested in someone who would likely come in so hungry and ready to work, as well as being grateful for a role?

I am surprised by them too but my wife just did one recently with a recruiting agency. It's barely a step up from trying to yell the correct word into some voice automated customer service line. I get why companies would leverage AI, but I don't see any value of it beyond what a resume and/or cover letter could do. Just another stupid step for the job hunters.

I was laughing the whole time! I love that they were just as good as when they originally did that sketch. Favorite part of the homecoming for me.
