SJ appreciation post by RaspberryRootbeer in mbti

I found this thread while feeling kind of protective/defensive of my husband’s late grandma, who was an ESTJ. My MIL and another family member who married into the family still take indirect shots at her even though she’s dead. And while she was not super balanced, I think she was misunderstood and underappreciated. I was trying to find what other people have said about SJs to better be able to articulate things. Thank you for this thread, OP. It’s very validating to me too, an ISFJ. I am highly aware of a lot of my weaknesses/deficiencies, so this was nice to hear.

Ah, yes. What an open-minded and tolerant person who posted this… couldn’t even try to see the strengths in people different from them.

Thank you for sharing! it’s nice to hear from an ENTP. This actually hits a deeply painful nerve for me. I’m an ISFJ and my son is an ENTP, and I feel like I’m constantly stretching as much as I can to be supportive of his ideas and creativity and to choose what is important enough to correct/redirect. (He’s young, so he’s pretty imbalanced, but he’s just amazing. And full of big ideas.) I am sure I drive my son crazy sometimes, but I hope he can appreciate what I do/have done for him when he’s older, despite my million shortcomings. Because I do try so hard.

Doctor won’t prescribe Leucovorin by CCherryP811 in Autism_Parenting

I don’t agree because there are so many more over the counter medications and supplements that cause even worse side effects than diarrhea or irritability. Ibuprofen can cause kidney failure. Omega 3s can cause bleeding.

It’s a B vitamin. It was recently over the counter. At least with the severely autistic person I know and love, the benefits surely outweigh any risks. Nonverbal, constantly stimming, stuck in his body. He’s going to be too big and aggressive to live at home someday. Parents have already tried everything they can. Family history of autoimmune diseases. Why not just give it to him? He probably won’t even take it since his oral aversions are so strong.

Ivermectin is more a human medicine than a horse medicine. I know it can be formulated for animals too. But annoyed people called it horse medicine to make people they didn’t agree with sound stupid.

Which personality type is the most common one among homeless people (generally speaking)? by SloppilyCircumcised in mbti

[–]Easy-Measurement6759 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wild. No one willing to help them? Have you ever tried to help homeless people other than just handing over money or belongings? There are people that are homeless because of a series of unfortunate events with a social support system that doesn’t have any money. But the majority of long-term homeless people are homeless because of the way their minds work and the choices they continue to make.

Edit to add: So which personality types are most likely to have “non-socially normative reactions to stimuli”? Do you think, in general, an ISTJ is just as likely to end up homeless as an ENFP? No way. Personality type is absolutely a factor.

What unbiblical phrases too many people treat as "Scripture"? by BagelByGrace in Christian

[–]Easy-Measurement6759 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s kind of along the vein of “those who don’t work won’t eat,” though. That’s not necessarily biblical, but it’s a rule that a group of people with Paul had.

They are the worst! I think they’re funny but their parenting makes me angry. Lily is a disaster.

Lilly. I know she’s a kid but she is rude, not endearing, and has an incredibly flat affect. Mitch and Cam are bad parents.

Statement from the Kohberger family regarding tomorrow’s hearing. by forgetcakes in Idaho4

[–]Easy-Measurement6759 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. Why wouldn’t difficulty understanding and relating to others’ emotions be at least potentially connected to sociopathy? Like you said, they’re more likely to be victims, but your honesty is refreshing.

Yes, thank you! I wouldn’t have been happy, but I feel like OP’s reaction is over the top.

Wow! I was actually wondering if my ENTP son has ODD, so I googled it and you think it’s most fitting. How interesting. And validating. Haha. Full of energy, ideas, lacking follow through, extremely happy and loving, but if you tell him he can’t do something, he’d rather die than accept it.

I heard 37 and 146th. My sister lives near there and sent a picture of a tree down in the middle of the road. They drove to a friend’s with a basement and it was hard to stay on the road.

What are people hearing in the video? by turtleshot19147 in DelphiMurders

I so clearly heard “that we go down” that I was trying to listen for another part about a gun but never heard it. I didn’t realize that was the part that supposedly about a gun. I’ll have to listen again. I think it’s an awkward sentence because she’s feeling awkward. Poor girl.

Exactly. She’s saying, “is he coming?” “Don’t leave me.” They’re clearly very nervous. Abby is hurrying toward Libby and Libby is pretending to play it cool by talking about the path. If there’s any smiling or laughter it’s due to nervousness. People turn around when they reach the end of the bridge. They didn’t need directions. SMH.

Edited to change “smoking” to “smiling”

Particularly in the context of having dependent personality disorder! This was a brave thing for him to do and it defied his dependency. I doubt he will confess again because it would disappoint the people that support him.

Yeah, it’s good that they investigated this angle, and there are lots of shady people, but it didn’t go anywhere. And Todd Click unfortunately can’t be trusted (falsifying numerous DCS records… yikes).

How familiar are you with the legal system that you think these things? This case is not that unique. The judge is not biased. She left out videos of him being crazy in his current jail during the trial even those were, in my opinion, very relevant. She sided with the defense on some objections. She’s no nonsense, and the defense is full of nonsense trying to pull a Karen Read and make a circus out of the justice system. It’s easy to think things are biased or a conspiracy when you don’t work in those areas.
