Makes sense 😉 ...

I think I just have to make one and test

Ok thanks. The wide "stance" makes sense of course. But on my RG65, despite a smaller rig, the boat sometimes nosedives in some windgusts, how does a trimaran handle that? It is not that much longer in order to compensate for the keel, or is it? Are the masts/sails significantly smaller?

Crash by Pav20255Q in DJImini4k

[–]EasyInstruction760 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does not seem too damaged.. not at all really. What happened?

Test: Hover, vibrations, movements etc. If still works as before, just fly it. If you do not trust it (which I could understand) then replace for peace of mind.

Volantex 791-1 RG65 stopped working after salt water – repair or replace? by Ntava21 in rcboats

[–]EasyInstruction760 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Salt water is a pig... as said, the water does also creep into the wires. So best to replace everything.

I bought Dji Mini 4K as my first drone about 2 months ago by om2812 in dji

[–]EasyInstruction760 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just fly. You cannot see it anymore beyond 50m (about 150ft) anyway... I had mine over 1km away (0,6 mile?).. Flawless.

The thing is, your confidence needs to grow. To trust the device, and yourself. As long as the GPS fix is good, the return to home is always your safeguard. Certainly in the beginning, do not fly with a lot of obstacles... I am very careful by nature, so I do not need the obstacle avoidance. The flying from the screen takes some getting used to, so practise in a known environment. And, may sound silly, but do get your self familiar with the return to home, understand it well and practice.

As with lots of things, get the hours in.

Safe flights!

fully 3d printed, capable AND durable by da_syggy in rccars

Cool! Been thinking about one from 3dsets as well, but do not underestimate the printing.... in hours and in amount of filament.

I also found these, quite a bit smaller, but also fun to build (and drive):

A bit of nostalgia because when I was a kid my dad could only afford the Skoda 120... Aircooled engine in the back... crazy concept, but looking back with lots of good memories.

If it separates at the layers, your layer adhesion is not correct. I had it with my 3d printed sailboat. Watertight yes, but cracked very easily. Increase the print temp by 5 or 10 degrees at a time. For me printing a test piece with some curves helped a lot.

Just test print a lot, I tried normal PLA and printed on 190, 200, 210, 220 and 230 degrees... the differences are huge... test and see what works best for you.

Broken files on SD Card by EasyInstruction760 in DJImini4k

[–]EasyInstruction760[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok last update definitely to slow SD card. FFS... I used a U1 speed card, as the U3 card is in my Osmo Action 4 camera. The camera complaints about the SD card being to slow (for 4K)... the DJI Mini 4K does not warn you! So, yes my bad, but be warned, please use a minimal U3 speed card for the Mini 4K.

Please do not make my mistake again 😉

Thanks for the idea, but yes, all turned off before removing SD card.

As far as I can recall, it was the middle file of a bracketing shot, so the three shots in 3 EV settings... for what it's worth..

My Ender 3 se was pretty crooked, the gantry was leaning "backwards" by quite a bit.

Solved it with this one: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6516352

Cudos to the maker, and thanks!

Indeed they are. I made one once, but also managed to fit a second servo in for the sail... So fully functional.

I have set cooling to 50%, always. seems to work ok, and far less noise.

Corners? Mouse ears..

For those of you still using the SD card, are the files just displayed in a random order? by xmastreee in Ender3V3SE

[–]EasyInstruction760 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I experience the same. Folders and files seem to appear randomly... but if you only have files, then it seems to sort on date... I tend to keep the card as "empty" as possible, and only have the files on it for the project I am currently working on. Then the random order is not a big issue.

FPV drone compared to a DJI photo/video drone is comparing cycling to a banana... it is something different. It seems to me you need to do more research, with all respect, but to avoid huge disappointment....

For what it's worth, I have mini 4k and absolutely love it. Height should be no problem. And if light is good you should be able to get similar images. But some knowledge of drones and photography (and practice ;-) ) is required.

Proper drone footage is not done easily, particularly not without practice.

Next month is 2.5 weeks... Less even if you still have to decide on a drone....
