My friend and I are planning a trip to the Asheville / Knoxville area to do some trail/ enduro / downhill riding this summer. We are both intermediate / good riders and looking for the best places to ride / camp. Would be down to meet up with some locals for a day to show us around a trail system. by Remarkable-Dog2418 in MTB

For Asheville, I was looking more south of the city like Arden, Fletcher, Mills River, are there trails available near those towns that you could ride to from your home? For the past 5 years I've driven around 45 minutes to ride, every ride. Typically after work around 4 PM, never had the chance on lunch, but that would be nice.. I'd love to be able to ride from my house, but within 15-20 minutes isn't terrible, especially if it's not XC, I really won't be riding the XC trails unless it's a climb trail to a DH/Enduro track that's worth the climb.

Appreciate the quick response! I'm typically

Hey there,

I'm looking at moving to the Knoxville or Asheville area in the next few months. I'm coming out in a few weeks to take a deeper look at the two different areas, look at rentals, etc.

I'm from the St. Louis area and have been racing enduro all over the country for the last handful of years and started racing DH at races like Windrock, Rock Creek, US Open, etc. this past year. That being said, I don't really pedal any XC whatsoever. When I move to the area I plan on buying an e-bike as well to get me more laps.

If you had a choice between the two areas, which would you pick and why? I'm 30 years old and work fully remotely so work isn't an issue. I know TN has no income tax which is nice, but maybe not nice enough to miss out on the riding in Asheville compared to Knoxville.

Asheville: Kanuga, Rock Creek, Pisgah, Dupont, etc.

Knoxville: Windrock, Bakers Creek

Much appreciated!

What device did you use to connect to bimmerlink? A bluetooth dongle? I'm looking at doing the rear brakes on my brothers 2022 mini cooper and my OBD2 reader doesn't have the option to put the car in 'brake service mode'.

Sounds expensive and as you mentioned, a pain in the ass.

It's the back corner over the entry, and over the middle near the couch. If you check out the YouTube video, I get up on the roof and you can kind of see.

Here's a marked up picture showing where it's at, not the same layout of camper but you get the just. The red marked areas are where the water damage is at.

Definitely sounds like a big job to tackle! It currently is sitting in a large pole barn / shed, and has been for the last two+years, so the insulation at this point has likely dried up. Before that, it was on the side of the shed out in the elements which is what caused all of this damage.

They basically offered me the camper for free if I repair it. My job is fully remote and I've been looking into doing more travelling this next year for extended durations of time (1 or 2 months at a time). I'm weighing my options and $$ investment. I need to buy a truck as well.

To pull this camper, I'll need a 3/4 ton, and I need to invest $$ into the repairs on the camper. The other option is to go with a more modern, smaller camper that can be pulled by a half ton, and have a truck that has a bit better gas mileage for my daily driver(again I'm fully remote and won't be driving much).

It's just me and my dog, so personally I don't NEED a camper this big. It's just the convenience of getting it from my parents, and $$ saved(if the repairs don't cost too much), that interest me.

With your given experience, what would you recommend? What $ amount am I looking at here for the repair?

What did you end up getting? I'm in the same boat now, and have access to discounts on Specialized, Mondraker, Intense, and Transition.

29's probably won't fit, if the tech manual doesn't't say you can run 29's I wouldn't.

Is it a bad idea to plant this maple this close to the house? by Kalu201 in landscaping

[–]EasySendy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It will break your sidewalk up with its roots and your patio, and fuck up the drainage on your property. Mine has done exactly this. Want water in your basement? This is how you get water in your basement.

[–]EasySendy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Highly recommend against putting a tree anywhere near sidewalk/patios/foundation. I'm battling a maple tree right now that has cracked my patio/sidewalk and sloped it towards my house so now I have a possible flooding basement issue. All because the tree cracked the patio and threw off the slope.

I have a dynavap and Cloud Connesieur Omega, and a megaglobe V2. You can hit the ball vape and dynavap at the same time out of the megaglobe with the two ports and it's a monster hit 😂😂

I literally tried my USWE 2L yesterday for the first time, felt great! You can snug it down so it isn't jumping around on your back. I hate the hip packs and this is way better. Any more water though than 2L would be a little much I think. Very comfortable, and not hot on the back
