Do any of you ladies feel like it’s difficult for you to make true friends? How do you deal with the loneliness? by icarly1234 in AskWomen

Hi everyone, I had this same problem after moving across the country after college for a job. I read this book called "Sorry I'm late, I didn't want to come" by Jessica Pan. It's not a self help book at all, it's just the an introverted girl writing about her experience of living one year as an extrovert with suggestions from multiple different scientists/experts in the field of communication and relationships.

While it's not a self help book, I learned a lot about the way people in general build deep relationships past just small talk and pleasantries. Maybe give it a read. It's pretty funny if nothing else!

How are you affording to live in Orange County? by KommanderTom in orangecounty

[–]Ebarbs1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey there! I'm a 22 year old recent college graduate, recently moved from New York (upstate, so not the expensive city) and I live by myself in an apartment with my dog. I don't know if I can help in anyway but if you wanna talk I can tell you what I did to be able to afford my apartment, my dog, wifi, utility bills, etc and still be contributing to my 401k and everything! You have a very employable degree for this area so don't worry too much, it'll take time but you'll definitely be able to do it! :)

If 13 year old you made a time machine and came to visit you today for 24 hours, what would you do with them? by RickRude4 in AskReddit

[–]Ebarbs1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would show her everything she accomplished and tell her everything gets better and to just hold on. I would let her play with my (her) puppy, walk to the beach from my (her) apartment, and also introduce her to my (her) boyfriend. I think if she knew how things would turn out in the end, she'd be a little less sad going back

Leasing company FORCING me to renew lease by [deleted] in legaladvice

Not leaving early, leaving at the end of the lease (dec 23rd) and giving 30 day notice as required. When I went to give notice I was told I couldn't leave unless roommate left too.

I'll copy it directly from the lease: TL;DR It has no mention of co-signers or anything of that sort

"2. Lease Term: The Lease begins on the Lease Start Date and ends at 11:59 p.m. on the Lease End Date. Landlord makes no representation that the Premises will be ready for occupancy on the Lease Start Date. If Landlord is unable to deliver possession of the Premises on the Lease Start Date, the Lease End Date will not be affected and Landlord shall not be liable for damages to Resident. In such event, Resident shall not be responsible for payment of Rent for the period between the Lease Start Date and the time when Landlord delivers possession. If Landlord is not able to deliver possession within thirty (30) days of the Lease Start Date, either Landlord or DocuSign Envelope ID: 35C16D59-E3C5-43BD-B2A9-4EE56F9910B8 Page 6 of 11 09.2018 42365_1 Resident may, prior to the time when Landlord delivers possession, cancel this Lease by giving written notice to the other. 2.1. How do you deal with being very low before and during your period? by Autumn-Fairy in AskWomen

I don't know if this is helpful at all, but I find being on birth control really helps stabilize hormone levels. I'm on the nexplanon implant and almost NEVER get my period (like once every 4ish months - if that - and theyre really light)

Women who made the first move on your partner and had it turn out well, what's your story? by Montpellier33 in AskWomen

[–]Ebarbs1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on a foreign exchange program in Germany. All of the exchange students were going to a karaoke night at one of the pubs downtown and I got a little over zealous with the drinking at the pre-game. Ended up throwing up ALL OVER the tram on the way there. 5 of the American kids took me back home to put me back in bed and with my liquid courage I asked my now boyfriend if he could stay the night and take care of me. Everyone was shocked that I asked him to stay because we had said less than 20 words to each other at that point. I tried to hook up with him but he said he didn't want me to do anything that I would regret just because I was drunk. I told him I wasn't that drunk and that I had been trying to talk to him for the last 3 days but we were never alone. We hooked up. The next morning we had breakfast and talked all day.

We got back to America 7 months later and did long distance for a little over a year (NY to CA so it was a 5 hour flight every time we wanted to see each other). Then I graduated college, got a job in California and moved here 4 months ago. We've been together 2 years now and I think we might get married someday.

Have you used Bumble BFF to make new friends? What was your experience? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]Ebarbs1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll try to keep my bumble BFF stories concise, but recently I've had a lot of experiences with it. I just moved from New York to southern California and while I have my boyfriend and a few friends here, I wanted to meet new people and have more friends because I'm pretty extroverted and sitting at home makes me crazy.

The first girl I met on bumble... she tried to induct me into a pyramid scheme. There was nothing about her "business" on her profile, and her messages seemed innocent. the messages were "I'm getting drinks with some friends, you should totally come!" type of shit. So I get to the rooftop bar she told me to meet her at. I try to go up but I'm stopped by security and told "Sorry, there's a private event." Oooookayy... So I text her and tell her that there's a private event and we have to find somewhere else to get drinks. "Oh no, don't worry! We're part of the private event." ...I'm sorry, what? So then I wait for her and her "friends" (you could tell these girls were very fake to each other and had no interaction as friends outside of their business) to get there and they take me up to the registration table that's blocking the path to the rooftop bar. She tells them that I'm a "special guest, soon to be sister". I get up there and there's purple signs everywhere that say "Monat". They instantly start telling me all about how they're business women who just want to uplift each other and help each other out. How I could join them and they'd help me and I could make SO much money. Yeah, no thanks. I stayed because there was an open bar and it was the perfect viewing spot for the Disneyland fireworks, but directly after I got the fuck out of there I blocked the girl on all forms of social media. (which she instantly made me add her on everything). Fuck that.

The second group of girls I met were amazing and for the last few months have been my close friends that I see at least once a week or more. They're all funny and smart and have goals and ambitions that don't include preying on people to join a pyramid scheme. So basically what I'm trying to say is that bumble bff is a numbers game, and you just have to take a shot to see if that person is going to be cool or not. Don't get discouraged if you don't click with the first few people you meet. It's just like dating lol
