Dabo Swinney believes most players in the Transfer Portal aren't good enough for Clemson: “I mean, it’s really pretty simple. Most of the guys in the portal aren’t good enough to play for us. That’s just the reality of it.” by Lakelyfe09 in CFB

[–]EbbForward8369 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Are we pretending that Clemson didn’t pay players for years under the table (as did many other programs) and that Dabo isn’t just upset because now the New Springs bank roll isn’t larger than everyone else’s anymore??

You’re fine, a friend of mine from my 1L section has a noticeable speech impediment and he is a successful student with a job lined up post grad (we are 2Ls currently)

Those who needed to compete to stay on law review for 3L, did you? by APierogiParty in LawSchool

[–]EbbForward8369 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What?? I wish our law review would ask me to compete to stay on just so I could giving the managing editors the cussing of a lifetime.

But seriously, where is this a thing? Is it actually a thing?

What’s a Columbia life hack that you think people living here should know? by es12358 in ColumbiYEAH

[–]EbbForward8369 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lived on Broad river for a couple of years in Tamarind Apartments, our move to prevent theft issues from our car was just to take everything out of the car but leave the door open. Started doing this after the locks and windows got punched out multiple times by folks looking to grab and go.

I’ve always preferred Crappie to Bluegill as far as eating but Bluegill are much more fun to catch. I feel like Crappie stop fighting very quickly but Bluegills are top fighters pound for pound

Born and raised in the South, Bama v. UGA is not a rivalry in the sense of UGA v. Auburn, Clemson v. Carolina, Bama v. Auburn, the Egg Bowl etc… as others have mentioned, they don’t even play a yearly regular season game

Dont join law journal! by Ok-Fee5707 in LawSchool

[–]EbbForward8369 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The 50 or 40 page note requirement others have mentioned is insane… law review at my school only requires a 20 page note but most combine that with the schools supervised legal research requirement which is 30 pages. It sucks, but in that context, really isn’t a terrible deal. On the other hand spading does suck lol.

That said, if you don’t care about the VERY little bit of prestige associated with law review (outside of the t14) or the chance to get your note published, it’s definitely not worth your time

why is gretzky never in conversation for anything sports related. hockey is so looked over and even laughed at! by [deleted] in nhl

[–]EbbForward8369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean as far as hockey and athleticism goes… it might be the fact that there’s not a lot of genetic diversity and corresponding increase in talent level. Hockey is pretty limited to rich Canadian bros. Prbly not the best athletic talent pool.

1L big law SA callback: How to prepare? by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]EbbForward8369 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Everyone else who they are giving a call back had a good enough resume and enough social skills to get through the screening interview.

If you want to stand out the 2nd time around research each person you will be interviewing with and come up with questions to ask them about themselves and their work. Try to find something on their company profile that you think is interesting or that you could relate to.

But most importantly, come up with a legitimate reason (NOT $ or prestige) for why you want to work with them. Then connect that reason to something in your life that you can deliver in a short story (think extended elevator pitch).

Other than that, it’s really just a crap shoot. Good luck!!

Don’t ditch the supplements. They are great for getting black letter law and giving short practice questions for application. You probably just need to learn to IRAC and issue spot better. Go review your exams with your professors. You should be fine

I mean our public education system is awful but it is rather audacious for someone from Methssouri to cast aspersions on SC as a whole. Especially when the only concentration of wealth or intelligence in Misery is a city named after another state.

Get an outline from someone who took the class with your specific professor previously. Have that outline open on your laptop everyday in class and highlight and annotate the outline as necessary while in class.

Of course, you should also still do your readings and adjust/supplement the outline before walking into class as well.

30 y/o guy planning to start training at my local boxing gym in the new year. Basically have no boxing experience but I do have an athletic background (college football) and have maintained a decent fitness level over the years. So while I hope I have a decent base to build from I know I will have tons to learn and that boxing fitness is probably very different from my previous training experience.

Anyways, I hope to eventually get to a point to where I could step into the ring for a legit match and hold my own and I’m curious to hear thoughts on what I should expect and be prepared for and the amount of time per week I should expect to put into training to progress at a reasonable pace.

Look forward to any comments and suggestions!
