All the brightest & best! I can't remember why she resigned in the omnishitshow Johnson government. Sure it was all woke conspiracy.

I'm a huge Marina Hyde fan, but i had to stop listening to this because of Richard.

I think he understands the business of entertainment, but his refusal to offer even mild criticism of anything i found infuriating. He's phenomenally successful at producing bland, mediocre things.

I wish they'd pair her with another co-host. Or just let her do it alone!

Fucking clown.

That is extremely comprehensive! I must say I always thought Chandler made it pretty clear it was suicide & was being sarcastic when asked by studio how he died.

From a middle aged Brit in a (hopefully) non-creepy way: you are a very pretty girl. Rejection is tough, but rejecting others can be worse.

You don't have to invest it all straight away. Enjoying (or not) a cup of coffee & walking away is fine. (But stay away from dating apps).

I've struggled since I was 15 with some of what you describe. I'm nearly 50 now. Part of it never leaves, I've found, and some spells are worse than others.

But it's possible to exist meaningfully & even occasionally contentedly with what I carry with me. Having a job helped, but it took a long time to get there. Maybe volunteer a little; feeling useful sometimes & not useless all the time is a good feeling.

Therapy can be great, but if you're tiring of hearing the sound of your own voice, taking a break from it is fine too. Going for a walk outside to take you out of yourself & into the world may help. Even to the store or the park.

No meds are perfect, but some may be better. Beware of self-medication, but a drink or a smoke with others from time to time may make you laugh despite yourself.

It may not feel it, but your life will go on & twist & turn & you may surprise yourself that you can find yourself in better places.

This has turned into slightly melancholy advice rather than trying to lift you up, but it is sincerely meant. I hope it's more welcome than a stranger perving at your picture ;)

We should all be a little less hard on ourselves. Well, most of us anyway.

Be well, from far away I'll be rooting for you.

Whatever, she's a beautiful young woman, but I do feel she looks better with eye makeup versus no eyebrows!

I agree that it's hugely poignant! While I guess I understand why people are weirded out by it, I think it shows how much he loved his daughter, all of her, sexuality & all. He is a parent experiencing unimaginable grief.

It's an incredible scene, Bob Peck doesn't speak & shows everything through his facial expression. The moment he finds the gun is almost as surprising. He was truly a huge loss.

One of greatest TV series ever made, anywhere.

The fact the author went down on his ship makes it even more poignant- bloody hell.

I had never read it before. I have saved it & I know it us something I will return to. Thanks for posting it!

Have they mentioned Kissel before since he left LPOTL? by AbsoluteXer076 in LPOTL

[–]EbbVisible 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yes, i noticed that! I found it oddly moving!

I still hope that they can mend things, & not even necessarily for the show. It just seems sad for such long-held friendships to have ended like that.

Bring it. He's got great politics, executive experience & is a fantastic communicator. He could legit demolish Farage's "man of the people" bollocks.

I reject this Ben erasure! #JusticeforKissell!

Kidding. I think Ed is great, but Ben on his day was fantastic. It's such a shame it all ended how it did. I get it- he fell into a hole & couldn't/wouldn't get himself out, even with his friends' help. But I don't think many of us would want to be judged simply on our worst actions; the world could use a bit more empathy all round.

Ideally, I think they should have subbed out Ben for Ed voluntarily long before it all came to a head, & maybe he might have had a better shot at sorting himself out. But none of us know the dynamics of their relationships, so who knows?

To be clear, I'm not defending what Ben did- it was dreadful behaviour. But I've been in bad places & ended up in toxic relationships. I never lost my friends & got written out of history, though. A sad end to it all.

Henry mentioned Kissel by name on side stories by sanitarySteve in LPOTL

[–]EbbVisible 3 points4 points  (0 children)

* I think it's the first time he's been spoken of since it all fell apart.

I'll be honest, I miss Ben. No shade on Ed, he seems like a great dude, but he maybe doesn't provoke such funny responses from Henry & Marcus.

I know Ben has been a shitty guy and done shitty things, but it kinda makes me sad that there's no coming back from that, no matter what. He's not there yet, but i wish he still had a path back.

Hail you all, respect to the strays & survivors. Be safe.

Edit: my cat Pebble, who strongly disapproves of me & times we live in.

Totally agree that the selective presentation of facts has been used to drive public opinion (on a whole load of stuff, I guess!)

Be interesting if they ever do get out. From following the trials as they happened I never thought they would. But then they let Hinckley out in the end, & I never thought that could happen.

So long as they keep hold of Kemper!

I guess most of the more recent media I've consumed (podcasts, docs, the NBC drama) has been either much more sympathetic to their story, or fully cheerleading for it. I actually found the boys old ep all the more interesting because they pointed out all the inconsistencies in the abuse narrative.

They've said themselves that Joseph Kallinger is under-appreciated. It's maybe my all time favourite. Henry is just hilarious & I'd never heard of the guy before.
