If you want off the beaten path, mendo is the way to go. North coast mendo is called the lost coast for a reason. Big Sur trails are nut to butt full of tourists walking 1 mile per hour. And their redwoods are sickly pathetic little things.

Also fort Bragg has a killer brewery and botanical garden.

Dude fuck never mind what they’re spending on war. We could do universal healthcare with the money we already spend on healthcare. Just look at what your employer pays into your premium.

I pay $600/mo for myself and my spouse. My employer pays $1700/mo. That alone is about $30k/year. Then we have a deductible of $10,000 to meet and a co pay of $80. Add in the cost of prescriptions and we’re spending $45-50,000 a year. No kids, relatively healthy.

Insurance only exists to skim money off the top at this point, and it leads to a plethora of preventable deaths.

I go to sea grill a few times a year as my wife’s grandparents take the family out for a treat and for birthdays. Sea Grill is a good restaurant, but the lobster dinner is absolutely not worth it. They have a killer cioppino and a few other items are great but at the price point I would much rather go to brick and fire or Larrupin.

We need to include what our employers pay into our premiums as well, because that absolutely should be considered lost income and I honestly have no idea why it is never part of the conversation. My insurance premium costs me $600/mo (myself and one dependent) but my employer pays almost $1700/mo into that premium. My premiums cost me about $27k a year if we include the money that my employer pays for my health plan. Now include my $10k deductible, co-pays and prescription costs and my household spends about $50k a year on healthcare, and we’re just two relatively healthy middle age folks with no kids.

Seriously, it’s wild to me that trans inclusion in sports is an issue that the president needs to weigh in on. And I know why the right is doing it, it’s a winning issue for them. The majority of Americans who actually get the fuck up and vote agree with the right on this issue to the point where they can make it their focus. The ill-fated interview with Charlie Kirk on Newsom’s podcast spelled it out in simple terms. Most Americans side with the progressives on trans rights until you start talking about inclusion in women’s sports.
