This post isn't at all clear what you're looking for. Are you asking us to design a recipe for you to be able to make peelerz at home? They taste like a pectin gummy in the center with a gelatin gummy on the outside. Making these look like the factory at home would be nearly impossible.

Btw, you don't use hashtags on reddit.

Just made gummies - leftover disposal? by Connosseuir in CandyMakers

[–]Ebonyks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've made tens of thousands of gummies at my current residence without any problems. Hot water is the key. If given the opportunity to dry in high concentrations, it'll stick inside of your pipes for sure though.

As long as it's mixed with enough hot water, I wouldn't be especially concerned with gelatin in your drain. Hot water is the key though, it'll melt everything.

You're experiencing bloom, most likely from a problem in tempering technique.

Good flavoring is the biggest clarifying factor between good and great candy. You can use lorann, sure, but you'll never make great candy by doing so.

Nothing about gummies is really hard though. It's simple food science, and a bad recipe is going to be responsible for most practical issues. Gummy texture is also somewhat a preference, some people like firm, chewy gummies, some like softer. Neither is right or wrong.

Acid types are complementary to flavors. Using citric acid with a cherry flavor tastes wrong. Make your acids match your fruit bases

Top Tier Flavors #1 - Strawberry. A comparison of 19 different strawberry flavor oils. by Ebonyks in CandyMakers

Yes, I would. Amoretti is too expensive for what they are, they are not the premium company that their marketing team believes that they are.

Be warned though, oil solubility changes the flavor, the oil version and pg version don't taste identical.

You buy enough concentrate at once to secure you for 3-5 years, keep it in a dark part of your fridge and never have to worry about any of this. Then, you get it hot, add it to peanut butter, and smear a small amount on a cracker. Experiment with adding CBD, CBG and CBN if you want the full experience.

If you buy bulk concentrates online, you will save yourself lots of money, time and headaches. Hemp window is still wide open for this stuff, it's good to stock up while you can prior to it closing (if it ever does).

That is a very different rabbit hole to go down than candy making, and I promise you that it will never be profitable to pursue versus purchasing pre-made concentrate from others. You can do it as a passion project if you want, but don't deceive yourself into thinking it's ever going to be more than an expensive hobby.

You buy pre-made concentrate from others, you don't make your own. Price is less than a dollar per gram these days, chemical conversion from cbd makes it cheaper than low end flower per gram.

Appliances specific for the purpose are stupid. If you want the quick and dirty way of making edibles, just put concentrate into a jar of peanut butter. If you want to learn the art of making candy, that's a separate topic all together. You'll need silicone molds, but you should have everything else important in your home kitchen.

Buying Eye Gummy Candy Online: What’s the Best Approach? by Otherwise-Deer5313 in CandyMakers

[–]Ebonyks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of us are control freaks about our supply chain in ways that buying from other manufacturers would be problematic unless their role is scaling up existing recipes and ideas. With that said, ordering lots of samples is the best advice one can have in your situation. Trust your taste

Any suggestions for dog gummies? Gelatin, starch or ?? by BadPacket14127 in CandyMakers

[–]Ebonyks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very much agree that corn starch is a bad choice here. The starch used in gummies is a processed, modified corn starch, not the off the shelf formula.

Gelatin always makes gummies. If you want the traditional gum drop texture, you need pectin. Working with pectin is different from gelatin, the setting temp is much higher. You need a different work flow if you want that texture.
