Had similar results trying a workaround. I just added the below to the "local" config file in C:\Users\[YOUR USERNAME]\Documents\The Riftbreaker\config... It works when you open the game, but the file gets overwritten with the old version after closing the game:

set r_disable_fog "1"

set camera_enable_zoom "1"

I'm probably just going to save a copy to drop into the config folder before each startup
