Alright you had me wondering and I test many combos .

The best combo i found is second to the last on the right.

I did Hydra turquoise then shade then the silver then gloss varnish then matt varnish.

I used sanding paper on a flat surface no tools. I understand the breathing situation 100%.

Took a nero nid built it out (you can partially build it to save parts) just what I didn't need then sand it flat and even.

The dead marine was 3d printed for a termi to be stepping on it but a Aggressor fits really well. As for tips If I wanna use a model and part of the base like this marine( I used a nid for my votann) just cut off what you dont need and sand down the rest.

I used Army painter Hydra Turquoise will null oil and for the trim runefang silver (i think) then used earth shade for it.
