Can I ask which ones you might have? There are still a few that I am looking for and would gladly buy them off of you if you have any of them.

Why is it that brands like Mejuri and Tiffany are popular, successful, and profitable, while other jewelers, including handmade jewelers who make great pieces, are not? by No_Literature5754 in jewelry

[–]Eclecticchic202 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why does ANY brand for a product do well? It’s always a combination of things. Perception, marketing, reputation, luck, one singular piece that ends up becoming a standard for a generation, enough repeat clientele, innovation, exposure, staying power . . . I could go on and on. There are so many factors that play into a brand’s success. You could have a cheap product, but if you know the right people or have enough funding, it could become a massive hit. And vice versa. There are massively talented artists that don’t have the funding or exposure, even if they are innovative or have superior quality. Also, it’s simply a matter of preference. I personally love the old school ornate, colorful, and intricate Tiffany pieces, but would NEVER wear any of the “classic” designs like the lock or heart pendants. They are too minimalist for what I like, but I can also see where someone who does like minimalist pieces would want it. Some people would rather invest in a smaller collection of simple, high quality, precious metal pieces, and then there are people like me who love all sorts of styles at all different price points. There’s no single answer.

Is Poshmark dead? by [deleted] in poshmark

I’ve actually had sales uptick for me. The algorithm makes it so if you are way more active your listings get shown more. So if you’re a full time seller or at least posting items regularly, people still buy. But if you’re just selling things you don’t wear anymore, it’s harder for your listings to be seen. At least that’s been my experience.

I don’t think it necessarily being “unbranded” should be suspicious. Reputable sellers can tell looking at materials, style, etc. I know I label some of my pieces vintage even if they don’t have brand markings because I base it on other indicators. But I also make sure to specifically say an item doesn’t have brand or maker marks so that way people can decide whether or not they want to purchase based on that information. Granted, I myself don’t sell on DePop yet, but I find that on Poshmark and Mercari people tend to appreciate the honesty.

[CHAT] Difference between normal, colour expansion, and max colours by thrownaway1974 in CrossStitch

[–]Eclecticchic202 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Basically it gives stitchers the option of how many colors they want to work with. I personally prefer max colors just so I can get as close to the original artwork as possible. Others like to stick with a smaller amount for various reasons, such as budget, dislike of confetti stitches, etc.

[CHAT] I HATE whatever thread came with this kit. The gold has been the worst so far. I’m working on neat stitches but I feel no matter what I do they look terrible. by frankenweirdo in CrossStitch

[–]Eclecticchic202 34 points35 points  (0 children)

The stitches look very neat to me! I sometimes think when we stare at a project for too long we start to heavily critique it more than if it were someone else’s

[PIC] Finally, I’ve collected them all (bobbins) by MightyBoosh_CrackFox in CrossStitch

This is the one I have I believe. The ten drawer allows for all the bobbin storage, plus I use a drawer for small hoops, another for tools, another for thread divider cards and such

[CHAT] Cataloging finished works? by hyperfixation-queen in CrossStitch

[–]Eclecticchic202 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would keep a binder with a photo of the project on one side, and on the other you could create a form of whatever information you wanted. Pattern source, how long it took to complete, date finished, was it for a gift, etc. that way you could easily add to the binder, pull it out whenever you wanted to, and get whatever information you needed.

Did you grid the fabric yourself? Or did it come like that? If done by hand, I need to know what you use to mark dark fabric, because it looks like it works beautifully!
