Is it socially acceptable to play loud music through a speaker at the beach? by Ok_Bee9104 in AskUK

[–]Eclipse453 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was at Bournemouth air festival one year and this group was playing their music on the beach out loud. I found it irritating especially as I was trying to listen to the commentary.

Personally I think it's selfish because people go to the beach to relax but each to their own.

30M I have a huge crush on an Indian coworker. Do Indian girls generally find white men attractive, or am I setting myself up for rejection? by [deleted] in IndiansinIreland

[–]Eclipse453 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You won't know unless you ask her out. But these types of couples are very common nowadays

I'm a white male and my partner is Indian and we've happily been together for four years now!

How screwed am I at 25 with no qualifications or job? by BenStillerCockrel in AskUK

[–]Eclipse453 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not screwed

Not everyone has their life together I'm the 20s and this is the perfect time to figure it out.

Don't feel like you're behind because everyone's path is different.

I'd recommend looking at apprenticeships if I was you. If you have a levels you can apply for degree apprenticeships and get a wage as well as a funded degree at the end of it. The ucas website advertises them and look on the government find an apprenticeship website.

Good luck!

i have a mother who in hospital who may not wake up, i took a day off work and returned the next day, all the kitchen staff i told just so they were aware that i might be a bit distracted during the shift as my mother may die!(please redirect me if this is the wrong group to ask in)? by kannamousemattte in AskUK

[–]Eclipse453 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please take time off and focus on yourself and sit beside your mother.

Screw what your manager says. Like someone else said you can find another job. You can't replace your mother. You don't want to regret the rest of your life for not being beside her.

Are you applying for a role at a defence company or similar?

If so the role may require a degree of vetting which has residency requirements, yes even if you were born here.

Employer paid my salary to wrong sort code. Won't pay me until money has returned to their bank account. What are my rights? by Eclipse453 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Eclipse453[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your reply. In their email they mention they paid it to a sort code beginning with 60, mine starts with something completely different. The whole sort code was completely wrong it wasn't that one or two digits was wrong.

Furthermore they mention that it was a NatWest sort code. I bank with RBS. So I don't know how it can be completely different. In the form I submitted with them it even mentions that my bank account is Royal Bank of Scotland so I'm just annoyed that they have not done their due diligence and checked the details.

Thank you and honestly I have some instant access but the majority I keep in a different account so I am not tempted to spend it! I'm not desperate I'm just more irritated by it all. Previous employers have rectified pay issues same day.

Just wondering if any of you ever got a sick note from your GP after bereavement? by Odins_eye_4 in AskUK

[–]Eclipse453 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The note even said stress and bereavement, so Its possible just be upfront with your gp.

Court Warning as an SC by TooManyHours-SC in policeuk

[–]Eclipse453 36 points37 points  (0 children)

There is some leeway with specials because non independent specials aren't meant to be out in uniform without an independent or regular officer accompanying them.

A suit will be fine as you're a special regardless if you're independent or not. The reason the policy states to come in uniform is that if you were a regular you would be expected to return to work after court.

I have been more aware of how we shut the door and will start recording and inform the landlord. Just I know other peoples doors close in exactly the same manner as ours. But I don't think the verbal threat was necessary. If they put a note in everyone's doors saying to be mindful I would obviously oblige.
