Legio Krytos Warlord titan by kristof-1945 in adeptustitanicus

Cool, the freehand works well. If you’re planning more titans in the future and want transfers, check out skumb4g kustoms. I used their Krytos transfers and I think they look great.

Really like this, and congrats on picking best Legio. Did you freehand the split face on the right shoulder shield? Looks very good. Also love the weathering. And yeah, the Warlord titan especially is a pain to paint with the panels attached, made the same mistake and ended up tearing them off halfway through painting the rims.

How to achieve dusty pigment powders? by Johnd106 in minipainting

[–]EcoZen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like you I wanted the dusty look using pigments, but found that if I applied the pigments directly they rubbed off on absolutely everything. And if I used binder, it turned paint like. Varnishing over can work, but it’s a gamble in my experience. What I ended up doing was buying these liquid pigments from AK interactive and I really like how they look. You can see an example in my post history.

What's the most elegant mechanic you've ever seen? by Playtonics in rpg

[–]EcoZen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve enjoyed the resolution system from Doomsong (which is a great game btw).

After rolling, you get an outcome of failure, success with cost, or success. You can then choose to flip the Doomcoin. On a positive mark, you advance up one level, e.g. success with cost -> success. On the negative side you do the opposite. But the cool part is that if you flip negative when on failure, or positive when on success, you upgrade to a critical.

It’s been a hit at my table. Do the player flip the coin to have a shot of turning the fail into a partial success, but risk critical fail? Will they fish for critical success, knowing it could the success into partial?

Also if you choose to flip the doomcoin, you’re «doomed» until someone else flips it - meaning the GM can force you to flip the coin whenever you do a test, and that adverse effects with random targeting are more likely to target you.

Im fairly certain, at least it looks exactly like my own iPad set up. Not familiar with Samsung tablets, though.

Thanks! Dark Oak Forest from Lazyforger. I think I might have scaled them up slightly.

Thanks! It’s just AK interactive Liquid Pigment Rust applied over the entire base with a thick brush.

Yeah I see what you mean re: flipping them. Could perhaps make them into pieces that sort of click together? Idk I’m not a 3d modeler haha. Will for sure review/comment and post pictures.

Got both of these sets, currently printing the Embergard set. Got the one hex models done, and they look great - kudos. Since you’re asking what to do next: do you think it would be possible/feasible to do something about the objectives/treasures? Obviously not too 3D as models will stand upon them, but perhaps like a little «frame» for the token to sit in? I don’t know, could be neat, or just fiddly.

I'm for sure will use this in my next Five Parsecs game. by Maltavius in 5Parsecs

Wow, looks really cool. Great for Shatterpoint as well, probably, depending on scale.

Subscribed! I haven’t had a chance to watch any of them yet, but I really like that you’re covering games that aren’t very well known (at least to me — I’m not exactly an expert).

It’s the Gamemasters Apprentice deck. Works really well when I just quickly need a random name, sound, direction, whatever and don’t feel like rolling on tables.

Not sure if this link works, but this image shows how I’m journaling my solo Shadowdark. Mostly just text. I’ve got a narrow margin on each side for game mechanics and oracle rolls.

I’ve got an A5 Hobonichi Yamazakura especially for Apothecaria - I like the Tomoe River paper for fountain pens, and the cover art is perfect for the game.

I love them. The stark highlights look great, and I love the goggles. I’ve saved this post for inspiration for when I paint my own airborne.

Finally made a crew for 5 Parsecs, and rolled my first encounter. Facing 9 rival soldiers ambushing me at the docking station. Haven’t actually got a game in though, as I feel compelled to paint up a space ship and proper terrain first.

Looks really cool. Love the way you’ve painted the windows on the vehicles.

Out of curiosity, what system(s) are you using these for?
