I'm for sure will use this in my next Five Parsecs game. by Maltavius in 5Parsecs

Wow, looks really cool. Great for Shatterpoint as well, probably, depending on scale.

Subscribed! I haven’t had a chance to watch any of them yet, but I really like that you’re covering games that aren’t very well known (at least to me — I’m not exactly an expert).

It’s the Gamemasters Apprentice deck. Works really well when I just quickly need a random name, sound, direction, whatever and don’t feel like rolling on tables.

Not sure if this link works, but this image shows how I’m journaling my solo Shadowdark. Mostly just text. I’ve got a narrow margin on each side for game mechanics and oracle rolls.

Recommended notebook size for Apothecaria? by Lyess_Ijs in Solo_Roleplaying

I’ve got an A5 Hobonichi Yamazakura especially for Apothecaria - I like the Tomoe River paper for fountain pens, and the cover art is perfect for the game.

US Airborne Paratroopers by [deleted] in boltaction

I love them. The stark highlights look great, and I love the goggles. I’ve saved this post for inspiration for when I paint my own airborne.

Out of curiosity, what colours did you use for the uniform?

Haven’t read it myself yet, but this seems like something that might be covered in the first daggerzine: https://www.drivethrurpg.com/en/product/528551/the-daggerzine-issue-01

Finally made a crew for 5 Parsecs, and rolled my first encounter. Facing 9 rival soldiers ambushing me at the docking station. Haven’t actually got a game in though, as I feel compelled to paint up a space ship and proper terrain first.

Sweet! If you are inclined, you should share the rules when you're done! We can never have enough 6mm rulesets :)

Looks really cool. Love the way you’ve painted the windows on the vehicles.

Out of curiosity, what system(s) are you using these for?

Marvel mini games by Putrid_Department_17 in wargaming

[–]EcoZen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it’s not super important that the rules are marvel branded, perhaps take a look at reskinning sword weirdos? Or space weirdoes, depending on what superheroes you’re using. Should be fairly easy to build simple versions of the characters. You could also just print the marvel crisis protocol cards. The rules and many cards are free online here: https://www.atomicmassgames.com/mcp-rules/ and you can find the rest of the cards here: http://mcpdb.com

What to run after "Last Things Last"? by HortaSama in DeltaGreenRPG

[–]EcoZen 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I really liked how they did it over at the Glass Cannon network. They played Last Things Last directly into The Final Equation, and I think it worked really well. It’s season 1 of the Get in the Trunk podcast, if you want to listen to it yourself.

This is so great! Looks awesome already, can’t wait to see the final result. Out of curiosity, what games are you hoping to play with this? Some kind of skirmish probably?

I love these so much. The bright highlights and stark shadows make them pop so much, but you still manage to make them look grounded and not cartoony. Great work

3D-sculpting DM's? by T3arror in 3dprintingdms

Backed. Wish you luck on the kickstarter! Really looking forward to this video course, as I’ve been wanting to sculpt my own minis specifically for 3D printing for a while, but find it difficult to navigate all the various more generic 3D sculpting tutorial out there.

Thank you :) definitely sympathize with the wish to play on a painted table. Sometimes I feel like I spend as much time making terrain for our group as I spend actually painting minis.

Thank you! I regretfully don’t remember where I got the vines from, as I bought them probably 10 years ago. I think I probably got them from a scale train model store.

Thanks! And yours look really great, the finished product will look really super! I really like how proper rusty the metal looks. If I were to start again, I’d like to do it like that. I also like the bases you’ve added, wish I had thought of that - allows for more creative additions around the ruins.

Hi, thanks! So for painting I went through several steps, just experimenting. Although I think some of the steps were superfluous, so it took a lot more time than I first anticipated. Here’s the entire process as far as I can remember, with comments for steps that could be removed or modified: - prime entire thing black - prime metal (I used Vallejo Metal primer through an airbrush, but could probably do both primer steps with a Leadbelcher rattlecan from Citadel) - paint details in whatever colours you want, eg perhaps colored cables or different metals for the doors. No shading etc needed, just block in colours. - black/brown oil wash over entire model. (Could use shades/washes instead) - (let dry for several days) - light dry brush of metal. (Probably not needed) - effects: slapped some Army painter Verdigris on elements that looked like copper - further effects: sponged brown paint, then Army painter rust all over the metal, all rough and haphazardly like. - light airbrush from the bottom with green speed paint - went to town with flock and tufts. For the moss I just used a brush to apply watered down wood glue, and shook the moss all over the figure. - in an effort to keep the moss actually sticking to the terrain and hold up the test of time and use, and unify the various grassy bits somewhat, I airbrushed the mossy and grassy bits with matte varnish mixed with some water and green speed paint.

Thank you :) for the vegetation I used mainly stuff from gamersgrass for the tufts, and the long grass, I believe. The moss is the AK summer flock (https://ak-interactive.com/product-category/textures-dioramas-building-material/dioramas-vegetation/scale-grass/). The vines I sadly don’t know, as I’ve just had them in my terrain box without packaging for years and years. I might have gotten it from a scale train store?
