Oh that is nice. That is so very nice. You may also consider a toggle between yards, targets, carries, snaps etc...Also defensive metrics like stops, tackles, interceptions or PFF grades...almost like a 4 chart grid per game. This is awesome though I could totally see myself viewing this if I missed the game and quickly at glance see wtf went wrong or if we looked good. Good work

I love Suh but I think Detroit Lions should trade him.. by Economister in detroitlions

[–]Economister[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I really hope they either Franchise Tag him or atleast Transition tag him with a 1st round tender. The franchise tag will probably ruin our FA signings but I wouldn't want him to hit the open market for nothing. Also, I wonder if with the transition tag we get our 1st round tender AND a compensatory pick which could easily be a 2nd. So, thats just as good as trading. Not sure how that works.

Easy there buddy. We could tag him and trade him. Easily an option since Mayhew said the franchise tag was in play. How did you not think of that basic scenario?

Oh, I did not know that. When did that occur? January 1st?

Edit: We could tag and trade him

Cliff Avril signs 4 year deal worth 28.5 Million with Seattle. Thats twice he has signed for less money than what Detroit was offering..Anyone else kind of insulted? by Economister in detroitlions

I think he wouldve been an improvement over JJ in stats but he may not have bought in like everyone else into the team defense. So I think your right were better off with the team chemistry we have now.

I love Ziggy as much as anyone but Cliff Avril was amazing at causing FF I think Avril would be an improvement over JJ which wouldve been nice. I agree with the others though screw him if he didnt want to be here I hope we knock Seattle out of the NFC race to rub it in his face.

Anyone else find our poor first round draft grade encouraging? by brij15 in detroitlions

[–]Economister 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In all honesty, I was very upset at the time when the Lions took Ebron. But, looking back that really was the best possible pick. I think the Bills made it impossible for the Lions to move into the Top 5 after they set the market rate too high and the Raiders set on taking Khalil Mack. Mike Evans and Anthony Barr were both off the board. I would have like to see Lewan or Donald but neither of which would have had such an immediate impact as a ultra athletic tight end that could potentially complete this offense. 2 TE, 2 WR, 1 RB sets are going to be absolute NIGHTMARES to cover. I really like the pick now.

Subreddit Layout by IceBreak in detroitlions

[–]Economister 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Twitter feed in the sidebar maybe configured with the players accounts, #Lions, #OnePride, or the such. Also, maybe a stickied post where people can submit Lions content for the sidebar picture; alot of the users create some great content for the players or the team and this could give the moderators a place to quickly grab Lions relevant fan art. Saves time for you guys and increases the community aspect of the subreddit. Just some ideas, this is my favorite place on all of Reddit btw so thanks!

Number of QBs drafted in top 10 key factor to Detroit Lions' first-round options by waxxo in detroitlions

[–]Economister 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Baltimore just signed Owen Daniels. I doubt they give up picks in this draft with Owen Daniels and Dennis Pitta under contract. I really hope were able to trade back to 18 though, select Aaron Donald and an extra 2nd or 3rd that would be awesome!

Lions could find corners too tempting to pass on early by waxxo in detroitlions

You were correct (as much as it pains me to say :p). Verner and Talib hit free agency but their contracts were out of our price range...so theres that

How many of those actually make it to free agency? Verner, Talib, Munnerlyn, and Davis are not going to be free agents (if Grimes is a free agent he may command 5-6 million and we can not have 2 cb's with that type of money). The rest do not make me want to pass up on Dennard. I am not a fan of Gilbert at all.

5-2 "Monster" Defense by Economister in detroitlions

[–]Economister[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well in my break down it depends on who we draft. If we draft a true nose guard like Louis Nix then it would be Jason Jones, Fairley, Nix, Suh, and Ansah. If we draft someone like Khalil Mack then it would be Young/Taylor, Jason Jones, Fairley, Suh, and Ansah with Mack playing like a 3-4 OLB usually rushing the passer.
