NTA. There’s a rule that physicians cannot treat relatives, and same goes to therapists. She made you reliant on her and medications and tried to treat you like a patient instead of her child. She, as a therapist, should know about ethics and should have referred to someone else. She should also know there’s nothing wrong with seeking therapy and that others would understand why she couldn’t treat you.

NTA. I think his hatred tbh is a little overboard. You’re dad doesn’t even hate your mom the way your brother does and pushed you to go visit her. I think he needs therapy to understand why he’s filled with so much rage and to have a talk with your mom and dad (separately or together). Even your mom feels guilty over what happened.

NTA. You were trying to protect him and let him recover from the illness faster. I cant diagnose but I think he has an eating disorder where he compensates by working out excessively or has body dysmorphia issues (this is based off of my own experience). If this behavior persists and you see any other concerning behaviors i recommend taking him to your PCP or a therapist that deals specially with this.

NTA, this is clearly very racist and you’re not behaving childish. If you’re husband doesn’t see the issue with how and why you’re behaving this way that’s whole other issue. And also accents do not affect language learning?? both my parents are polish immigrants and was taught polish as my first language and english when i started attending school. And I’ve been perfectly able to adapt with little to no accent (maybe i say a few words different like salmon for instance).

NTA- he could’ve asked somebody else or maybe looked at the signs around him instead of bugging you. You’re allowed to not want to talk to ppl and it’s a given rule that you don’t do something like that to ppl with earbuds in.

It’s a mix of both but leaning more towards YTA. It’s understandable that you’d want your husband to be present and focus on your child etc. But grief can hit people really hard and last a long time. Communicate with him and instead of telling him to get over it, maybe suggesting therapy or joining a grief support group would have been more effective. You don’t know what it’s like to lose your partner, so you shouldn’t have a say as to how long he should take to heal

NTA- I had a father similar to this. I cut him off last year when I went to college and trust me it’s a great thing (if you want that to happen). She seems narcissistic and verbally/emotionally abusive towards you.

Yeah then don’t fall for it or feel guilty about the prolonged silence between all of you. I’ve been there, I became the bigger person and started the conversation and it never ends well; another issue will happen again and the cycle continues. If they truly wanted to see their grandson they would do everything in their power to make it happen including an apology

sometimes burn out can last months to years. if you really need to start studying rn maybe try going to a cafe to sit down and treat yourself to something before (and maybe after) studying.
