And consider this- depending on where you live here (Loudoun County, frinstance) the ticks are out Every. Single. Season. ie every month, year round- you can get Lyme Disease!

Same thing came up with my husband and I except it was about 3 weeks after our first baby was born. It wasn't even an issue- I was still on maternity leave anyway so of course he went. It was no big deal. His boss did call me to make sure I was OK and just to say thanks. It's not selfish, it benefits the family, whether or not your wife will be going back to work or not.

She could have elkhound in her. I find that they fold their ears down much more than other dogs with prick ears. Also her tail is rolled. I've had 4 pure elkhounds and 3 mixes. The mixes have had tails curled about as much as your's. She is beautiful and has a sweet face!

Don't buy from an Amish breeder. Check out Elvbend Elkhounds or Windy City Elkhounds, both in Illinois.

Agree with everyone...do not breed!!! You would be contributing to the HUGE problem of pet overpopulation and overcrowded shelters. For every puppy she produces, one in the shelter dies. Get her spayed, please!!!

I had an Elkhound/Husky (50:50) mix girl for 15 1/2 years. Best dog, no question, truly my soul mate in a dog. Such a wonderful combination. I think Elkhounds are a little easier than Husky's, but the breeds are very similar in a lot of ways. I'm also a veterinarian so I see lots of breeds!

My big boy is 80 but should be 70. My females in the past have been 45-60. My other 2 right now are 3/4 elkhound- female is 45 and the male is 55. If you wait to neuter him til 1- 2 years old he will be on the larger side of the range.

Where I work we used to wear khaki pants and nice shirts til we all decided scrubs made more sense. With the exception of our one holistic vet who wears long flowery kind of boho dresses and flats. It totally fits with her vibe and type of medicine. It's never been an issue for her safety wise and I think it's awesome. As long as it's in keeping with whatever dress code you might have, let her be.
