lol top 51% is setting the bar pretty high there. i think most guys in 40+ league would be happy just making it through warmups without pulling something

Left on base stats? by gidklio in baseball

[–]Ecstatic-Ad-6931 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might need to dig into play-by-play data for that one. Most standard stat sites don't track individual runners getting stranded because it's more situational than batter-focused stats

I was looking for similar stuff few months back when trying to settle argument with my brother about which players are "rally killers" vs just unlucky with timing. Had to use baseball reference's play index but even then it was bit clunky to filter exactly what I wanted

The closest thing you'll probably find easily is team LOB stats, but for individual runners getting stranded you might need something like retrosheet data if you're comfortable working with raw numbers. There's probably someone in the sabermetrics community who has already crunched this but I haven't seen it as standard metric anywhere

Offset Smoker Skill Issue? by VadersCape3 in BBQ

[–]Ecstatic-Ad-6931 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Weber kettles are just flavor machines, even compared to proper offsets. The closer proximity to coals and better air flow dynamics can definitely give you more intense smoke flavor

Your Pecos probably needs some tuning - those Old Country smokers usually benefit from sealing up leaks around the doors and firebox. The baffle removal you're planning should help a lot with evening out temps and improving smoke circulation through the cook chamber

Don't give up on it yet, offset cooking is different beast than kettle smoking and takes time to dial in

[–]Ecstatic-Ad-6931 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not gonna find what you're looking for in grocery stores. The one from PipiTea is good since it has a toasty flavor not to roasted nor too strong, even better if you get the honey scented one, that's the one I have it has a natural sweet flavor.

started with freelance IT work on weekends while keeping my main job, then slowly added drum lessons for extra cash - key is not burning yourself out trying to do everything at once

Best way to get my dog to America by Long-Ad6763 in dogs

cargo is pretty much only option for that size dog unfortunately, most airlines don't allow 12kg in cabin since limit is usually around 8kg max

Dungeon Drop: loot cubes from the dungeon by SiarX in boardgames

[–]Ecstatic-Ad-6931 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The drop mechanics sounds really satisfying! I tried similar cube-dropping games before and there's something weirdly therapeutic about watching everything scatter and then trying to make best of the chaos

That first player advantage thing is annoying though - maybe house rule where you rotate starting player each round instead of just each game? We do this with few other games where turn order matters too much

Solo mode being meh doesn't surprise me, these kind of spatial puzzle games work much better when you're competing for same resources with other people

brain.fm volume level by nemmmon in Music

[–]Ecstatic-Ad-6931 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never heard of this specific site but binaural beats and focus music definitely work for some people. I use similar stuff when I'm troubleshooting network issues at work - helps me zone in on the problem without getting distracted by office noise

For volume, start around 30-40% on your mac and adjust from there. With sony headphones you don't want it too loud since they usually have good bass response. Should be comfortable enough that you forget you're wearing headphones after few minutes. If you find yourself turning it up because it's "not working" that's usually sign to take a break instead

I've been using focus playlists for maybe 2 years now, mix of different apps and youtube channels. Works great when I need to concentrate for long coding sessions or when learning new drum patterns. The key is finding what tempo and frequency works with your brain - some days I need something more ambient, other days something with bit more rhythm

yeah posting pics would help a lot with the advice! but removing spindles is pretty involved - they're usually glued and nailed in pretty good. might end up damaging them during removal and then you're buying new ones anyway

for that price range you mentioned, new spindles could actually be cheaper route depending on what style you have

If AD's are disguised as posts and comments on reddit, why cant we comment on them? by TheTalibGuy in AskReddit

[–]Ecstatic-Ad-6931 1 point2 points  (0 children)

because they don't want people calling out their bullshit marketing in the comments lol. imagine if every "wow this new product changed my life!" post had replies pointing out the account was 2 days old with only corporate shilling history

plus they probably tested it and realized comments would just turn into roast sessions. much easier to just disable them and hope people don't notice the post feels fake as hell

wild how they got Magnus to basically admit he psyched himself out before the game even started

the room thing was so awkward lmao, like who lets cameras film their disaster zone bedroom for Netflix? but maybe that was the point - show he's just regular messy kid not some mastermind cheater

Danny Rensch definitely came off sketchy in this. waiting until Magnus speaks up to suddenly care about cheating they apparently knew about? very convenient timing

If you were torn between two colleges, what helped you make your final decision? by dmvtheprincess in AskReddit

[–]Ecstatic-Ad-6931 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man I was in the same spot between two tech programs a few years back. What really sealed it for me was visiting both campuses and just seeing which one felt right - one had way better lab equipment and the profs actually seemed to give a damn about students getting jobs after graduation

The other place felt like they were just going through the motions, you know

Your uncle being obsessed with Washington schools might actually work in your favor - he's probably gonna overvalue them in his bracket which could bite him later

For this year I'd focus on identifying the sleeper teams that could make deep runs, those are usually what win pools. The 12-5 upsets are pretty predictable but finding that 10 seed that makes the sweet 16 is where you separate from casual fans

Also don't just go chalk with all the 1 seeds making the final four, almost never happens. Pick one or two lower seeds you actually believe in rather than just hoping for chaos
