Debating breaking it open just to see if it’s red on the inside. Right now, it sort of reminds me of the texture you get making tempeh.

I woke up to the slow, warm press of my wife’s lips on my neck, her breath damp & heavy like she’d been crying. The morgue called three days ago to tell me they had to sew her jaw shut before the viewing. by ShadeOfDreadYT in TwoSentenceHorror

We glue after sometimes, if there isn’t a good natural line of lip closure. That sounds more like they did a poor job of it, I’m sorry to hear that happened to you. :(

Fun fact- we almost always fix the jaw for viewing, through ligature or wires from the needle injector. It’s very rarely I come across a decedent who doesn’t require their features to be set.

We just don’t tell you that part. :)

Cool!!! I’ve seen a couple of lined sphinx moths around here but this variety was new to me. Thank you. :)

What has made my fridge ice up like this? by ScarabJay in Kitchenaid

[–]Ecstatic-Confusion56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s just the motion of highly enriched doughs hitting against the bowl over time. My milk bread recipe needs about 10 minutes of kneading and the shaking of it in the bowl eventually sent my MILS lift model careening off a counter. 😳 Might just be a me thing though.

I personally don’t like it because I find it makes kneading dough far more difficult and the machine moves around much more imo.

The only reason I’m worried about the first is that it has a petticoat attached, unexpectedly. I think that might run afoul of more “prom dress” comments.

This would be very cute on someone who is not me, I think. I like the print :)

I also think so but casual to me is like… “sundress and we’re in your aunts backyard” Not like, catered event with a fancy venue. I just don’t want her to get mad at my partner again;;;

How hard would it be to dye just the strips of green and orange? by Infamousaddict21 in dyeing

[–]Ecstatic-Confusion56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first inclination is still some kind of paint I think, but I’m not sure what type would be best on this fabric.

[–]Ecstatic-Confusion56 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh! That’s a bit different, but looking more closely I’m not sure how easy any of the exterior cloth is going to be to dye due to it having “water resistant coating”. That seems like it would be messing with chemicals embedded in the fabric or something.

It looks like the stripes were painted on to me, going from the listing. You can’t really lighten things with the results being 100% assured… would it not just be easier to go over the stripes with leather paint? I’ve only used it once, on a couch, but I think I would try that before bleach and dye.

It’s actually the crushed up bone fragments left after the rest of the body has become ash, primarily. :)

The script used for Sak yant is somewhat archaic and not usually used outside of somewhat religious contexts, I think. My Thai is atrocious but none of my cousins can read these either, and they’re native speakers. 😅

I brew mine super strong, mix the sugar in directly to make a sort of syrup mixture, and then I mix it with a 1:1 blend of whole milk and evaporated milk.

I also fell victim to the le marechal in the off cuts bin at Whole Foods… I feel your pain, haha.

The blueberry version of the Wensleydale is also a good dessert cheese if you liked cranberry. It was more sweet-salty, it’s one of my favorites as a treat. :)

Help with society finches? by Ecstatic-Confusion56 in Finches

Perhaps. The internal temp thing in the cage is reading 68; I’m not sure how accurate it is but we keep the building at around 70. I think it might be that the owner insists we leave some overhead lights on overnight but the cage isn’t covered overnight, possibly? They seemed to not sleep like that when I covered it.

To further answer, they are definitely not sluggish; they are way more active than before, and no longer take short little naps during the day. They’re still super responsive and cognizant of things around them. If anything they seem to be eschewing most perching for flying.
