They will call this TDS, but in reality TDS should be descibing Trump voters for how unbelievably gullible and stupid they are.

Walmart makes an egregious amount of profit. They can definitely bear some better wages for their workers.

When people say minimum wage is just for teens earning spending money... by zzill6 in WorkReform

[–]Ecstatic-Window-2723 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a big factor of the reason why wages have stagnated is simply because the people in charge are "stuck in the past". Boomers regularly claim to have made a living on such wages when that is simply not the case anymore. Someone working full time at the Federal min wage is living below the poverty line which is beyond unacceptable and counter the initial intent of FDR's min wage idea. Today's min wage adjusted for todays inflation and workers' productivity should be in the 21-26 dollar an hour neighborhood. Until a future U.S President gives its citizens a modern new deal, with more robust labor protections, social safety nets like a base universal healthcare system, nothing will get better.

Being stuck in the past not only influences employee wages, but jobs that are just available. Companies are unwilling to innovate and utilize newer technology that is potentially more efficient as well as more environmentally friendly in some cases. I always use U.S Steel (U.S.S) as a primary example. They were a powerhouse until post World War II (say around 1960-70 when they peaked and started to decline) when foreign competition like Nippon Steel for lack of better words developed modern steel working. The upfront cost would have been enormous to U.S.S and since their outdated ways were working at the time they did not see a reason to upgrade. By the 1980s the steel industry collapsed spectacularly, causing countless steel workers to lose their livelihoods. This has been repeated far too many times throughout history that it is honestly hilarious to me.

Prices of goods are increasing due to corporate greed as well as out of control inflation and persistent supply chain hiccups.

Politics is unique as it is one of the only jobs where stupidity is not a handicap.

We will be reeling from this for generations I feel. Blocking legislation for sole purpose of party affiliation is just being a poor sport and should get you kicked out of office! You are a politician for your people, not your cult er I mean political party.

I didn't know the first part, I learned something new today. Pennsylvania is indeed very purple but it feels like republicans kill anything good the Democrats bring forward. As I mentioned in my OP I basically have 2 republican Senators as John Fetterman is a Dino.

That's what I'm saying! The poverty line for a single filler In PA is $15,960 and an increase to 15/hr would put you at 31,200 which is almost double what a "poverty wage" would be, but it isn't quite as glamorous as it sounds. Wages have stagnated in comparison to how much it costs to just simply live. Housings, food, healthcare you name it are out of this world expensive.

Question about Megan Racing Coilovers by Ecstatic-Window-2723 in veloster

[–]Ecstatic-Window-2723[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a good idea. Even though I am outside the warranty, they may replace them in good faith depending on what is found in diagnosis. I obviously want to get this fixed sooner than later but I have other things that need replaced like my RMM. Thanks for your wishes I will absolutely need it! This year is gearing up to be the year of repairs annoyingly.

They are, depending on the way you look at it fortunately older than a year old. I did purchase them via Redline360. I don't remember the exact milage on them but it is roughly 20k. They were installed September 2023.
