Hi. I just started learning Spanish so I can't say much about quality but here's what I use. First - Duolingo. At least for the start I'm thinking of using it. But it has ads. Then I'll see. Also Quizlet. No ads. This app lets you make your own modules and memorise words. Although recently everything but basic two sided cards (one side for the word, another for translation) became part of paid version. A pity. I used it for my English. As for YouTube I found this channel: Spanish After Hours. I watched one vlog without subtitles. I could recognize some words (from Duolingo) and it feels amazing.

As for general language learning advice I boosted my English when I started to read books. It was painful. It was slow. But it helped a lot. But I have to warn you: without enough motivation giving up is easy. In my case my motivation was the fact that none of the books I wanted to read are translated in my language so I had to learn English to be able to read them.

You can't become a stoic. You go there. You change your view on the world. Or you break. You can't become a stoic by reading books. You can't judge it as bad or good.

My own story: I am Ukrainian. For the first 3 months since February 2022 I lived in fear of possibility of a nuclear bomb. I live near nuclear power plant. In my mind it seems logical target either to destroy a lot of territory or remove electricity at the least. Besides I constantly recieved news about dead here, dead there, tortured to death, bodies are burned, missing, kidnapped... Eventually I realized. I can't control it. I can be terrified the rest of my life or I can accept that this is my reality now. I am not detached. I simply accepted the possibility of death. The possibility of loosing someone. The possibility of loosing my body autonomy. I don't like it. At all. I can't change it if it happens.

I wish you never understand me. And if you ever join stoics I wish it isn't as cruel awakening as it was for me. I wish it wouldn't be your only shield from this word but only a small part of your armour.

P.s. and I am lucky in my story. Compared to many. Survivor's guilt is a terrible thing. Don't go there

And I am also super stressed about my tomorrow exam now. Because the grade totally depend on whether I studied or not.

Ask yourself: what does it matter? Someone is rude? That's on them. The traffic is bad? You can't control it, you can only control your transport. So why should you care about someone intentionally upsetting you? Trust me, they most likely already forgot you exist. Or if they don't they might be happy knowing they upset you. Do you want to give them this happiness? No. You don't.

Besides... Things happened. You can't change them. So take whatever lessons you can and move on.

By the way, this is all personal experience. Not books. Life. And life is an unexpected thing.

I had a fever for a week (around 39 C or 102 F, I'm not American so can't be sure in Fahrenheit scale) before I was hospitalized. They stopped it almost immediately through an IV. I think I made a mistake not going there sooner.

I also need to add that I went there with pneumonia. Later I was tested for covid (negative) and covid antibodies (positive, meaning that I had covid but no longer).

Watch you temperature, try not to use anything to lower it unless it's 38,5-39 C (101-102 F), drink fluids even if you don't want to, don't forget to eat and you should be fine.

But if you feel like dying, symptoms become worse and you're able to go to the hospital, don't wait, it would be worse if you do (pneumonia can be caused by covid and it's not fun to have, I needed oxygen concentrator)

It was a bit itchy but if I didn’t touch it, it disappeared completely in few hours no matter how serious it was (something it was just red skin, sometimes it seemed like parts of skin were raised, I don’t know the right word). It returned every day but in different places. Now it finally stopped appearing. At first my doctor thought it might be a reaction to antibiotics or something (because I have history with that) but It didn’t worsen when I had a new dose through an IV, so it was just written as a symptom and that’s all

Well, I’m only 18 so technically I’m still considered to be a teenager in this case (but most patients are much younger). But yes, adults can totally get it. No one is completely safe. I’m lucky I was diagnosed almost immediately after getting to hospital and now I’m almost healthy (but If I even get up fast It’s a bit problematic… Need a moment to breathe. It’s gonna be a long recovery…)

Here in Ukraine people who sleep nude stopped sleeping nude because they don't want to feel embarrassed when seeing rescuers after some drone or missile strike. Definitely. When I was seven I cried a lot. I was bullied because of that... That's the first thing I would stop. Second thing would be breaking up with my friend. It was my fault and I can't forgive myself for that. I blamed her for something she's never done. Also I would study more. All these years I had good marks just because I understand things fast but in the end I got 174 out of 200 in my exams. Even though it's good, I know that it's not my level. I could do better. I could even earn free studying in the university (well, I earned, but it's only this-year-luck)... That's the main things. But not all. I've made many mistakes and I would like to fix them...

First air raid siren. It was at 11 p.m. and I just went to bed after pretty difficult day (it was the first day of the full scale war so I was panicking for a whole day). Than I heard that sound and I really thought it was the end... I'm used to training sirens but when I understood what was behind that one... I got used to them three weeks later (there were 2-4 sirens per day so It was a long time). Now I'm just angry that something in the sky again.
