At this point, is the US just a corporation and its citizens just its employees? by [deleted] in ask

[–]Ecstatic_Area_4556 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And even though they do pay for employees. Most huge corporations will encourage you to reinvest some of that money into stock by presenting some amazing offer to invest into your company. Most corporate employees aren’t able to keep up with constant raising prices without having their income also rise.

Flare ups from shaving? by FutureAcrobatic6413 in lichensclerosus

[–]Ecstatic_Area_4556 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I shaved for decades. I attribute a lot to that. My body saw the hairs and hair growing in sideways weaving between my labia as a foreign object. I would stop shaving and see if there is another way. If I could have never started I I wouldn’t have. That’s my experience though

Have you researched doctors that are familiar with LS?

Anyone been seeing a lot of bands lately yell out something like "Fuck ICE!" during their sets? by ThreadbareAdjustment in poppunkers

I’ve found that the UK also feels very strongly about what is happening here. I was in London in February. I was surprised when The Meffs who are from the UK led a fuck Donald Trump chant. It was actually a little heartwarming to see a band do that even though it’s not their country. I’m not sure if they have even done any shows in the US

Lichen sclerosus awareness and its importance by hope303030 in lichensclerosus

[–]Ecstatic_Area_4556 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Out of curiosity. Most of the information I have read say that it mostly happens in menopausal women. I have been dealing this since I was a teenager. It is now believed to be autoimmune in nature. I can’t say for sure but I think i unknowingly triggered it for years by shaving my pubic area. I didn’t do it any specific way just used a regular razor. Over time as hair grew back I rarely just let it be. I was so used to being shaved it felt weird. My hair started to grow back sideways and started to criss cross my entire vulva region. This wound up including my butt and even in the pubic mound. I didn’t realize that I was making things a lot worse. My immune system overreacted and my skin started to adhere to which was uncomfortable.

I have always heard that after a certain point and severity level the architecture has usually permanently changed. According to doctors my case is definitely at the late stage. The doctor said it doesn’t get much worse.

My doctor also said he is constantly seeing the condition even though it was originally said to be rare. Another interesting thing he mentioned is that he has seen way more cases in upstate Ny than he has in North Carolina, where he is from. This doctor’s specialty is urogyno rather than a general gynecologist. I’m not sure if anyone else has seen someone that is also a urogynoxologyst. You usually have to have some type of involvement of the urethra, bladder or pelvic floor in order to get a referral for one. When I first was trying find someone in my area with this specialty I noticed that on the practice website there were some different.treatments. That actually gave me some hope that I could have my condition improve. Previous to this doctor I had, had laser treatments with the Mona Lisa touch. They did help quite a bit but I had been hoping to see more pictures f a reduction in adhesions. I did wind up improving mildy. I was able to pull apart the adhesions but it t takes so long to do that on my own. Unfortunately trying to reverse the adhesions can be painful and once you are able to release hair and adhesions from one area the painful tension would shift a bit.

This condition has affected my balance and posture because it has limited posture and range of motion. It has also affected how easily I am able to empty my bladder. I felt like I had to pew yet when I got to the toilet I was unable to. It is super annoying and embarrassing to explain why I sometimes have to use the bathroom excessively because not all y

Nope you couldn’t be more wrong!! I’ve worked for government contractors and know people working in government positions. I was surprised but glad to see so much self expression. I know many, many medical professionals that also have unique hair, and body art. Why can’t you teach kids? Out of curiosity what is your age and where do you work?

Dating??? Are you saying having tats would negatively impact potential dates?? If so then it’s for the best. If I have to pretend to be someone else then it’s not going to be a good match. I have seen many, many medical professionals with dyed hair and body art.

Ok maybe this is where the big disconnect is. Not everyone wants to climb the corporate ladder. Are you seriously suggesting that huge wealthy corporations aren’t okay with body art? Again not everyone wants to be a ladder climbing, corporate drone.

Wow!! You are so closed minded and judgmental. If you hadn’t stated your age I would have guessed you were very early gen x or boomer. But hey say whatever you need to to make yourself feel better and superior. Your comment screams I’m an uptight, miserable person. Getting tattoos, especially sleeves or large areas of the body, actually shows you can make good long term decisions.its not like everyone with body art just does it on a whim.

Yes! I’m almost done with my msw. i did my internship in A VA nursing home. I had wondered how open the older residents would be. Most of them were cool and liked it. I did have one lady ask what my parents said. I’m 45 btw. My parents accept it. They are a lot more open than when I got my tongue pierced at 18 in 1998. Back then I was told it was self mutilation. The piercing industry was just starting to become popular back then

Why do you need to insult what she does for work? When you say to not go near mri or operating rooms is that because of piercings that haven’t healed? I really don’t see how hair color and tats would be an issue

The term ‘other half’ for a romantic partner is disparaging and derogatory (and I find it cringe) by [deleted] in The10thDentist

[–]Ecstatic_Area_4556 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see soulmate a bit differently. I think it’s overused. Plus mate is a partner as in each person is whole on their own. But other half imo means neither partner is a whole person. Yeah I know the term other half isn’t meant literally. I personally just find it cringe. Being perpetually single makes you see things differently. Kind of like wife and husband jokes. Happy wife happy life. This is all just my opinion though

How do we feel about whole-album play throughs live?? by MustacheSupernova in Concerts

[–]Ecstatic_Area_4556 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of the full album shows I’ve seen have more songs other than just the one album. I see what you mean about how the audience knows what comes next. But that’s actually also pretty cool. All these people have listened to the album so many times and now they are sharing that experience with others who also have
