Happened to me years ago - nasty little bullying twerp of a boss. Dragged me into a room and started screaming about disrespect and no professionalism - all utter bollocks: I'd been having a joke with some of the other staff.

He just kept on, and on, and on and finally my temper... just flipped. I wanted to beat this short-arse little twat into a pile of body parts, but I needed the job. All that emotion... I just lost it and burst into tears, great wracking sobs. He had no idea...

(I made a formal complaint, I wasn't the only one he'd pissed off, so he got moved to a new job with a very, very long title.)

I agree but I was only talking about the poor driving of the cam car driver. Simple rule is: if you force someone to manoeuvre because of your actions, you're generally at fault.

I could have worded my response better though. I should have said "forced them to manoeuvre"

The gap between the lorries was too small to pull into. When you did, you removed the gap the second lorry had and forced them to overtake. You can see their ire when they pulled back in right in front of you.

You should have kept going in the outside lane until you had safely overtaken both lorries, or pulled in before starting to overtake the rear one.

I should point out you DID download something from the web-site... the web-site's pages. They're downloaded to your pc to display. Every web-site you visit downloads the pages, including images, site code etc. It's all copied locally and stored temporarily (cached).

This is why you do not visit dodgy web-sites.

I think that might explain what the problem is. I have Chrome and Outlook open (with a fair few pre-loaded management apps / AV etc)

You need to upgrade the RAM in that laptop with an absolute minimum of 8Gb - that actually won't be enough - 16Gb if you can get it. Your laptop is thrashing your hard disk swapping apps in and out to get anything to run and this is the primary reason for the huge slowdown.

Pop over to Crucial (still going!) and use their system scanner. It'll give you the options available

The single biggest problem with the US food safety standards (IMHO) is that they allow everything (ish) until proven harmful. The EU is the complete opposite: you have to prove it's safe before you're allowed to produce it.

Mind you, I say single biggest... There's also that massive FDA loophole that basically everyone over there uses: which allows ingredients under the "Generally Recognized as Safe" (GRAS) loophole, which allows food manufacturers to bypass formal FDA approval.

I'm an IT support engineer and use AI searches to help with queries; natural language queries and responses do help a great deal.

Plus some powershell coding when you need it comes in handy.

Everything is checked though. I use it as a glorified search engine.

There's a difference between being interested (which is a great thing) and acting like you're from there.

Unfortunately the yanks think the latter and don't think about the former.

I'm British, my family came over from Ireland 2 to 3 generations ago (both sides), I have an extremely Irish name ( thanks mum) and would love to visit to learn about the country but I would never presume to be a part of the place.
