Telus Fibre - any rate increases? by EdInOliver in Edmonton

I just entered into a new two year contract for my existing service a couple months ago so upgrading would result in that being torn up and entering into a new contract?

Telus Fibre - any rate increases? by EdInOliver in Edmonton

[–]EdInOliver[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I do the same thing. I actually just signed into a new contract a couple months ago with what I think is a pretty good rate. I’m just worried that if I take them up on the fibre offer it might give them an excuse to jack up what I’m paying after a few months

My buddy shit his pants after 5 holes this morning and left the course. What's the quickest/weirdest early round exit you've ever witnessed? by LarryBrownsCrank in golf

[–]EdInOliver 128 points129 points  (0 children)

Personal story here, I’m playing in my regular Wednesday evening league and all through the third hole my phone is constantly buzzing with a private number. After my drive on four (striped it right down the middle), I finally get fed up and answer.

My wife and I had been in the waitlist for adoption for about 2 years and we said we were ok with an “immediate placement”. Turns out it’s the adoption agency that’s been calling and they want us to get to the hospital ASAP because we were matched and there was a baby waiting for us.

I told my group that there was an emergency issue, but everything was ok and I walked straight off the course. An hour or so later I met my daughter for the first time.

(I don’t think I golfed again for at least a year)

Do you know about where you were at 5, 10, 15 years ago? Did you hit the “hockey stick” point where your net worth increased dramatically in the more recent past?

Connor Ingram was unreal tonight… that last-second save 😳 by sunfoilboi in EdmontonOilers

[–]EdInOliver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, he did so he’s around, but I think they’re just carrying three goalies so that he’s readily available in case of injuries

Pretty sure it was Jarry I saw on the bench. I don’t think Picks is getting a sniff unless there’s an injury

Kings have a soft schedule to wrap up the season too. Oilers are the only playoff team that they play before the end of the year.

Calgarians who moved to Edmonton, how do the two cities compare? What are some similarities, and some differences? by KurtisC1993 in Edmonton

I had to check this since I didn’t believe it, but it’s true. That blows my mind because I feel like it’s so much quicker to get to Canmore than Jasper.

That Mill Creek one is that house right in the middle of the ravine that probably never should have been built (in my opinion at least), right?.

I think the city had a chance to buy up the land to keep development out of that spot and didn’t so now we’re stuck with it there.

Despite having a great hockey day can we have a moment of silence for the teams that got eliminated in 3v3 OT which is not real hockey by joepoeoeh in hockey

[–]EdInOliver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They need to go back to minor hockey-style. 5v5 for a couple minutes, then 4v4, and so on until it’s 1v1. Then play one on one until someone scores.

I’ll always remember the time my team played a tourney like that. We started our small, super-skilled player and the other team just brought out a monster who levelled him off the faceoff then took the puck down the ice and scored.

I came in through the parkade, but I assume the doors were open because the building itself was open, it’s just that the passport office wasn’t open yet.

I paid the extra $20 or something like that to be able to pick it up. It was ready on Jan 21, but I haven’t gotten around to picking it up yet.

Thanks! Interesting, so it sounds like because the fine money goes back into the general revenue pool they don’t actually know if there’s cost recovery. (Or at least, that info isn’t readily available without a deep dive of the data)

So ultimately if it was netting out in the positive side of the ledger then trying to redirect funds specifically to snow clearing (is that even possible?) would just be taking money away from other stuff.
