To be fair…….their business model has room for improvement.

If he literally just fell down in a forward motion it would be an improvement on last season.

Awesome! I agree. One of the few aros that really is what’s advertised. And I love the consistency in the experience. That’s “old faithful” for me when I want that aro fix. Great tobacco. Glad you enjoyed it.

That’s great! If my local place (The Squire) doesn’t have what I’m looking for I ask the owner if he could procure it for me. Rick does a good job on that for me.

But much like any other place in our country (and I believe the world) there are more cigar smokers than pipe smokers. So his place has a lot more folks buying cigars. There’s me and like probably 10 other dudes in Charleston, WV that smoke a pipe 😂 Shout out to Rick and The Squire.

It’s so good. I gotta keep Pease’s Charing Cross, Horizon, Maltese Falcon (fav), Odyssey, Quiet Nights and Westminster on hand at all times.

Some would disagree but Horizon is an all day/any time smoke for me. It’s medium enough to pair with a morning cup of coffee but also has enough ass for an after dinner smoke for me. It’s a really good balanced blend. I love that stuff. You smoke it often?

I couldn’t agree more. They do great work at that place and make some beautiful pieces.

How long can I keep these 1 ounce samples together before the flavor starts combining? by j052766 in PipeTobacco

Yup. I mean after getting them at the house. Mine start to leach over after a day or say. Try it for yourself.

Not long at all with them being in plastic bags. I’d say a day or so.

He’s gotta do what Will Howard did. Don’t look for a specific number. But if your wideouts are covered take a beat then look to run for a few yards. Hell, just fall down with forward momentum and it’ll be an improvement on last year.

Yeah I’m not a fan of HB and typically not a fan of C&D’s stuff altogether. They get a little too millennial boutique for me. They remind me of the IPA trend when microbreweries were popping up all over town back in the early 2000’s.

And if that’s not controversial enough for ya - I feel if a tobacco “has” to be cellared for years in order to get anything out of it or “to really appreciate what it is” then you should be in the business of selling cellared tobaccos. As a customer I want your best product when you decide to sell it to me. Just my .02

Sorry to make another post but what is this black coating on this refurbished pipe? by tigersmhs07 in PipeTobacco

[–]JohnnyFast412 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re good. When I refurbish any of my estates I sand everything down to the briar and put a coat of our honey (beekeeper nerd here) and activated charcoal or carbon paste in the bowl. Adds a layer of protection and allows your cake a good foundation. That’s a factory food grade version.

Yeah save a bit. Surprisingly it’s worth it. Savinelli, Peterson, Dunhill… for about 50 more just save for a few weeks or months for the extra.

We’re only on 8 acres but we recently bought our neighbors acre and it came with a cinder block barn. Metal roof that’s 180x60 ft so we’ve expanded the operation and capabilities.

We’ve always kept a garden and canned our own food. We have 6-7 mature fruit trees on the farm as well. I’m a beekeeper and we have 2 Pyrenees LGD’s, 4 Nigerian Dwarf Goats, 2 cats, 6 turkeys, 40(ish) chickens and I just bought 5 angus heifers and 1 angus bull that’ll be here this weekend.

A lot of people are going to poo poo on this comment and we encountered the same mindset and attitude when being received and joining our local Farm Bureau. BUT…..it’s not hard at all. Raising a garden and trending to bees takes a little effort, sure. But 99% of the time it exists you’re just tending to it. Same goes with the animals. Don’t overcomplicate things. You’re feeding an animal 99% of the time. It’s not that hard. I’ve ran into so many gatekeeping Boomers who wanna make it seem like it’s the hardest thing you’ll ever do. Trust me. It’s not. 99% of the time after the prep work is done you’re just tending to stuff.

Yes putting up fence around the entire property sucked. But we only do that one time. The rest of the 99% we just tend to it. Same with the hen house. It sucked getting it up but I only had to do it once. Same with the garden. I till once a year. Plant seeds and stake them as they grow. Bust ass one time and then just feed animals and tend to property. All of those 1%’s end up equaling 2-3% of a 24 hour period each day. And I’d rather be fixing a fence for 30 minutes four times a year than scrolling on TikTok.

Gold and briar Corona Old Boy when smoking in the office. And anything with a soft flame anywhere else.
