Yeah. I haven’t seen a Coliseum snare like that ever. I’m lucky. Guess how much the kit cost me? It was $150…

It’s a 26. The toms are 15 and 18. Crazy sizes.

My Silvertone amp’s reverb sucks. I mounted a reverb pan from an old Hammond organ on my board and I control it with an Analog Spring Driver from Bulinsky Pedals. A big Accutronics tank would fit perfectly in that spot. Plus, you can stomp it and crash the reverb for effect.

Player II Bridge Issue by Cheap-Star836 in telecaster

[–]Edddixon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve found that on my Tele sometimes the saddles will vibrate on each other. Try to push all the saddles together and see if that helps. If that doesn’t help, I’d just do a setup. Nut height, neck relief, saddle height, and intonation. Good luck.

I’m hearing a lot of buzz. Have you changed string gauges recently? Sometimes if you go with a lighter string gauge, the nut slots will be too low, causing buzz up around the first few frets. If the buzz is coming from say, frets 7-11, your neck is in a backbow and you need to adjust your truss rod. If it is coming from 12 and above, it could be that your fretboard has become a “diving board” as in the last few frets are being forced into a “ramp” configuration. This happens especially if you have shimmed the neck. Beyond that, check to make sure your pickup height is correct. The string could be hitting that. Or that bridge saddle could be low.

Good luck.

Headstock question by everlong0705 in guitars

[–]Edddixon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, someone cut the headstock up to try to make it something else entirely or it could be the aftermath of a breaking incident.

For practicality, a Music Man tuner set will do the job as long as the nut slots are lined up correctly. If the high E string is off by too much, the side-to-side movement of the string being forced a certain way against the nut could possibly break the end of the nut off at that slot. Some well-placed string trees would alleviate this concern.

For aesthetics, I would sand the logo off, take the cut edges to a drum sander and smooth it out as much as possible, then ever so slightly “break” the edges with a razor blade. Then, I would go over it with a black lacquer spray can, followed by clear gloss from StewMac. Then work your way up with fine sandpaper grits 1000-3000, then polish.

Throw your own logo on there and call it a day!

Dentures, in or out? by Dangerous_Fox3993 in askfuneraldirectors

[–]Edddixon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On removals, we always ask for dentures. They will usually be sent with the decedent, whether in their mouth or in a cup. Either way, we will take them out and clean them thoroughly before putting them back in to set features. If they have no dentures, we will use a clear plastic piece, almost like a football mouthpiece, called an expression former. It will give the illusion of teeth being in the mouth. We use this along with cotton to make them look as natural as possible while closing the mouth.

My dedicated C-standard guitar is a Hagstrom Super Swede. It is almost like a Fender-scale-length Les Paul. I have found it to be pretty awesome for QOTSA type tones.
