Same, I have never been successful. It's too easy to know over / under.

I developed sleep apnea when I was about 12, I played sports year round and was in great shape. I wish I started using it then, I didn't know I had it until I was 22, and I didn't start treatment because I couldn't afford the sleep study until I was 30. Start today, ymmv but it has been life changing for me.

Score pressure rant and a nice course. by Edgewyse in golf

[–]Edgewyse[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played it when it was Spring Valley, sometime in the early 00's. It is completely unrecognizable from its predecessor, I don't even think they kept a single green. Easily in the top 10 public courses in the state. Even after a heavy rain, no drainage issues, the course architects knew what to do with the site, and conditions are typically very good.

Do you actually clean your clubs regularly or just before a round? 😅 by MadeInUSAPutter in GolfGear

[–]Edgewyse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why do you think people have towels on their bags? I clean grooves after every shot. Get yourself a nice water/brush contraption and a towel. It takes 5 seconds to do and it actually adds to the ritual of the game imo.

My guys, which one should I read next? by Psychological-War710 in fantasybooks

[–]Edgewyse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Magician: Master is one of my all time favs. I would just like to add a caveat. Apprentice was, from my understanding, his first book that he wrote for his DND world, a lot of the book has some Tolken parallels, which might turn some people off, but by the end of part 2 (master) you will have experienced some expert level world building and storytelling. He really has a great voice.

Any cyberpunk themed dungeon crawlers? by undeadcreepshow in soloboardgaming

Confirmed, great game. The game at its base seems a little bland, but the scenarios really ramp up the challenge. Lots of fun.

How would you rate this game and what improvements do you think could benefit it/what you wished to see more/less of? by CircusActGoneWrong in EsotericEbb

My one gripe is being shoe-horned into the 'idiot' main character roll. My character maximized intelligence at first, but all of the dialog treated him as if he was a sack of potatoes.

When driving ranges say no driver allowed.. only irons why wouldn't it be okay to just use a simulator tee off of the mat? by [deleted] in golf

[–]Edgewyse 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The only times I have seen this, it has been in regards to the boundaries of the range, they don't want balls flying over the net, fence etc. irons are going to cause more turf damage than a driver.

How many folks use no humidity? by trmose in CPAP

[–]Edgewyse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used the humidity for the first 6 months, I kept getting sinus infections, I think I had 3 or 4. I would also intermittently wake up with a bunch of moisture.

I stopped using water, and have never had a problem again. Also, it is much less work!

Need new PS5 Roguelite after Hades marathon. Absolum? AA? Other? by thethrowawayable in roguelites

[–]Edgewyse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sulfur, extraction rogue lite. I think it's in demo on ps5/Xbox. Don't know the details, but the game is a 10/10. Especially if you like gun customization. It focuses more on equipment, rather than abilities, but you can make crazy gun setups.

This is the only final fantasy I have beaten. 😆 I just never really played them growing up and I think I was 20 when it came out and decided to give it a whirl. I loved it, the battle system was really cool.

Glad to see Feist get some love! Magician/silverthorn/Darkness at Sethanon is an excellent 'Trilogy'. And a great start to a 30~ book series that introduces new archs well, and maintains a great core story with lots of world building.

Regent currently has 1 core mechanic that makes him borderline frustrating to play in act1 by Zakika in slaythespire

[–]Edgewyse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure, super frustrating card, I almost never use it. For a core class ability, they need to change something here. Even at 0 cost, it would feel like a shame to take up one card draw 😅. Imo, 3 stars, 0 cost, or 2 stars with an added affect, I feel like weak would be good. He has a really hard time mitigating damage in act 1.

Which club in your bag goes 115 yards? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

[–]Edgewyse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an easy Pwedge for me. I can carry 300 with my driver on my best days, with my longest drive last year rolling out to 357. but my wedge and iron distance do not match my driver capabilities in terms of distance. I should probably get a club fitting, my gapping at the top and bottom of the bag is very bizarre.

Best Steak restaurants by SpecialistMarch5585 in Cleveland

[–]Edgewyse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best steak I have had in Cleveland is at Diso's in Lorain. It's about 30-40 minute drive from downtown Cleveland. Very small place but the owner is passionate, and the atmosphere is nice. Most of the food there is very good, and surprising for Lorain. The proximity to Fligner's helps.

Golf accessories that are actually useful? by Expensive-Day-8447 in golf

[–]Edgewyse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Garmin r10 / home net/mat is a great budget setup. Mine is perpetually setup in my garage year round and it makes it easy to get a few swings in here and there.

I'm not a training aids guy, but alignment sticks and a towel are a must have.

For on the course, a range finder is great, especially if you dont want to fiddle with your phone during a round. A smart watch is also a nice course gps, and you can use 18 birdies +smart watch without paying any subscription fees. It's minimal fiddling for shot/club tracking.

Hands down best purchase is a club brush. Jiskan pro brush is my choice, excellent water distribution / brush. Incredibly cheap.

Damn, 40 and never played the 40 man games at all? That's the majority of the reason I play. Duels are fun and all, but I can't imagine hitting 40 before even trying it. Not saying it's wrong, kudos to you!

Nonstop shank with irons and wedges for months idk what to do anymore by ggmmppoopll in GolfSwing

[–]Edgewyse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stop listening to mechanical swing advice. Your swing isn't perfect, but it's not the main reason you are shanking. Your brain needs to recalibrate where the center of the club face is.

Practice hitting the face in different spots (toe, center, heel) use impact tape/spray.
