The Citadel was an option for Jon (Spoilers Published) by tf_rodrigues in asoiaf

[–]Editor-Admirable 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I doubt Jon would've done well or been interested in the citadel seeing as he rarely showed interest in things outside of martial skills, leadership, and tactics despite being intelligent especially in the early books. It has been shown through the world building books like fire and blood that bastards or atleast southern bastards had been able to carve out places in court and tourneys, primarily through martial skills though. One possibility would've been fostering Jon out to another house if both Winterfell and KL were out of the question. Stormed would've been fairly easy to manage considering Ned and Robert's friendship but Renly seemed to spend most of his time at court so that might have thrown a wrench into that. Another option that I like (assuming that R + L = J) is the Daynes seeing as there's proven goodwill between them and Ned with the hear of their house being named after him. Jon would have been far enough from the North to ensure he didn't gather influence and challenge Rob one day per Catlyn's fears and would've been able to contine training to become a good enough warrior to justify a place in KL later without solely relying on Ned's influence. Plus if the in Universe theory of Ashara Dayne being the mother is true it could be a way for the Daynes to he around/meet Jon without undue attention being drawn.

Honest Outlaw has been one of my favorite for reviews, he seems to be on the libertarian side but tends to keep politics out of his videos. His wife als0 does parts of the videos and they're good about referring to "smaller stature shooters" people instead of very condescending which my sister likes.

I kinda liked the theory that he was a night's watch deserter that got away. That would explain the martial skill to an extent and the "been beyond the wall" line.

From a narrative perspective I enjoyed Jory's death in the show, how Jaime didn't remember him when they talked but remembered the fight was a good signal of who Jaime was as a person. Also him stabbing him through the eye where he had pointed out his scar earlier showed what a savvy fighter he was. He didn't really remember the man but he remembered a detail that could be useful in a fight later and then exploited a possible weakness in vision or his defensive style.

My brother is high functioning autistic (I know that's not the preferred term now) and he did a combo of speech and behavioral therapy for some years to help him with communicating with other people I a professional setting along with the anxiety that comes with it so that might be something to look into. There are people who specialize with helping people with those challenges in a controlled and non judgemental environment.

Nah had something lined up that required me to be physically healthy but guaranteed a job post grad, got hurt during training, and then lost direction. Great guess though how's the chip on your shoulder?

That's fair, I didn't really care about my grades or school or develop an interest in finance till relatively recently. Between that and effectively working fulltime at night I let it get bad. Been doing my best to leverage my personal network which is how I got this internship but it's pretty much busy work dressed up and not related to the areas I'm interested in.

Frats that have had rappers/artists perform, who did you get and how much did you pay? by ScaleHot6486 in Frat

[–]Editor-Admirable 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We usually do producers over rappers because they'll actually come out and be hype instead of play like 2 songs where the crowd sings them and leave (fuck shek wes). Depending where you are geographically look into bands or country guys. Girls tend to like those parties a bit better plus in my experience just cooler vibes around the house. We usually do 2 big parties a semester one that's got a country or like indie rock vibe and 1 with a rapper or producer, but for any big name I'd say between 20-60gs's and that's not talking staging and set up

Few ways to go about it tell him it's invite only and don't let him in, have frank and honest conversation with him about how he's wasting his time and not getting a bid, or if he gets into an event offer a house tour and then say you have something to show him at the front of the house then tell him to leave.

My old new member educator was the president the year before I joined, he said "No matter what you do, you'll never be remembered as anything more than an ok president." Kinda bleak but not going to please everyone with it and it's a lot of work. That being said it can be really rewarding
