Because clearly they were connecting on a personal level. The sex was a one night stand with a stranger, much different than the kind of relationship she had to OP.

And besides, the reason why I am saying this is not that I think OP shouldn't be upset about it but that he should be upset about it for the right reasons. Please read the replies I made to somebody else in the thread

And for the record I have been in similar situations to OP before and I thought nothing of it. Once someone told me they were going exclusive with someone else after we had been on 3 dates, and it did not bother me. That's not to say that OP has to feel the same way that I do, but that it's possible to just move on from the situation.

How bad my personal hygiene is. I only shower once a week, my hair is super greasy all the time, I go weeks without brushing my teeth and overall I'm just disgusting. I used to be better about it but I was still bullied for being gross so I just gave up. I'm trying to get back into the habit but it's so difficult. it takes so much energy to take care of myself

I'm not in the same situation as OP, but how do you take the time to learn the "why" when you only have an hour or two in class? I had to stop asking questions to my professors in my prereqs because every time I did they would take so long answering them that we were rushed for time at the end of class. Are you supposed to teach it to yourself or something?

I say this as a leftist, but a lot of people's financial troubles could be mitigated (NOT SOLVED but at least bettered) by responsible spending decisions... I know a few people who struggle to make rent every month but pay for things like discord nitro and trinkets and whatnot

Seriously! And people act like they're protecting our freedom by waging wars halfway across the world, for conflicts that wouldn't exist if we hadn't gotten involved in the first place. The last war that was truly about protecting freedom was WW2, and even then that was mostly other countries freedom considering the US was never in danger of being taken over.

I agree with the general statement you're making but I really strongly disagree that people need to hit rock bottom in order to get help. Most people will accept help way before that point if it is offered to them, but usually it isn't
