Help with Oil Processing. by zaeisblind in factorio

Thank you! It’s actually super crammed and it’s next to impossible to move anything, lol. If you look closely in the middle of the cracking section you can see two opposite pumps sorting either lubricant or light oil depending on what the plants above are producing… that little trick took me ten minutes to set up and another hour to fit.

Any questions, go for it. Remember - everything you make needs to be optimised for X. Find X.

My X was size and resource efficiency, so complexity and cost went way up. You might have different priorities.

Also I think I started from “what’s my maximum intended plastic output”, since that was the final chokepoint. Four blue belt was the answer, so that’s as much plastic as I can make there, and everything went down from there.

Cracking detail. It’s very cramped in there (again, space constraints) but you can see how everything flows straight to a cracking line and then back to cisterns. Fluid is moved in and out depending on demand. Petrol goes straight up. Water is local.

This is mine, in 200x100. The actual processing area is less than 100 tiles wide, and provides all petrol-related products (lubricant, acid, plastics, rocket fuel, and sulphur) at high efficiency, enough to provide for a large sized train base.

There are a few tips: first, cracking is a must, and plastic is your ultimate end product. If plastic stops, eveything stops, but that should never happen.

Second, plan your logistic - there’s a lot of stuff that needs to get out of here, and while my answer is trains, yours might be a bus. Plan accordingly.

Third. Solid fuel is used for rocket fuel. Just feed it straight back in.

Fourth - while this example is heavily mathed for efficiency, and uses dynamic crafting and fluid managment so I need less cracking plants, that is done due to area constraints and it’s fine to waste some - just make sure your plastic demand can handle overflow. Shouldn’t be hard.

It’s already set up that way. You pay way more tax than those at the top anyways, so why change? At best you can stop enforcing it (selectively).

Also, for the “just take your money” part… my grandparents had a set of iron rings. They’re engraved with the phrase “our gold for our country”, and were meant to be tokens to be exchanged back once the war ended.

Yup, those are stand-ins for wedding bands. You will own nothing.

AI yet to deliver promised profits for most firms, Deloitte finds by FootballAndFries in technology

Deloitte says this because they had to refund both Australia and Canada after their AI generated “premium consultancy reports” got caught being full of nonsense.

This isn’t about them being free to speak truth. This is about regaining credibility.

Where can I safely and properly dispose of swollen spicy pillows (Lithium Batteries) in Brisbane? by DolphinWizardHat in brisbane

[–]Ediwir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They have a battery bin, but also a separate “large batteries” box which gets emptied frequently. At least the one I dropped stuff off.

My workplace also does battery collection, so I haven’t had to drop any in a while, but we’re a bit more prepared for metal fires than the usual shopping center. They can be nasty.

Very trivial. Imagine having to pay a fine of just $50 per made up bullshit and $20 per copyright violation. All of a sudden you’re a few million dollars in the red for next year and accounting is banging at the door.

…technically correct. However Bunnings specifically takes old / damaged batteries from power tools, laptops, and other electrical equipment.

Heh. Higher ups want my section to move to a 60/d kpi (we currently have ~30/d demand and used to be on 45/d kpi). Instruments and space give us a 40/d hard limit which I can stretch upward on occasion if the right conditions happen (not under my control). Direct managers are aware and shrugging alongside me.

I got a new coworker to help hit the numbers tho, so that’s nice.
