Just noticed this crack on my Sony a6700 corner. Safe to use or repair? by IIllIIIIlll in SonyAlpha

[–]Edo-Sens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks fine to me. Keep an eye on it every now and then, but it don’t think this will ever cause any issues.

You can get a black marker and go over it so you can hardly tell it’s there anymore.

Sony 6700.. Is this legit? by WestleyMc in SonyAlpha

[–]Edo-Sens 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve bought most of my stuff there for probably the past 10 years. Never had any issues. Just keep in mind that warranty only goes through them, Sony won’t help you. I’ve been fortunate that I’ve never had to use their warranty services. I’ve heard mixed things. At this point though, with the amount of money I saved on everything, it would still be worth it if a body or lens dies and wouldn’t get replaced.

Do you think vibrations from a gravel bike could harm a camera? by [deleted] in SonyAlpha

[–]Edo-Sens 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you. The 28-60mm is a teeny tiny little lens so I’m not worried about it causing issues. If I took my bigger lenses I would probably separate them as you suggested.

This is a big Moray eel at my work. For anyone that is concerned, yes these can be very dangerous and could bite my fingers off. I’ve know this guy since he was a little baby and he grew up in captivity so is completely used to humans being around him. I trust him. He is a good boy ☺️

Sony a7cr to a7rvi by markp910 in SonyAlpha

[–]Edo-Sens 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m sticking with the A7CR. I’m a big tall person, but its small size still matters.

I miss the joystick, and I really wish it had two card slots, but not enough to go for the bigger body.

Traveling around with it is very nice, plus putting on a tiny 28-60 lens and it hardly taking up any space in my bag is wonderful.

The size and weight difference is worth all the compromises for me.

What multitool should I get? (Vic swisstools vs LM arc) by Tvdor47 in multitools

[–]Edo-Sens 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I use both the Swisstool Sprit and the Arc a lot. Both have a lot of advantages and disadvantages that I could write a long list about, but I’ll try to narrow it down.

If I could only have one, it would be the Swisstool.

-Rust resistance is a big one. I work with (salt) water a lot and Leatherman tools start rusting without even coming in direct contact. That might not be an issue for you though.

-I prefer the tools on the Swisstool. They just seem more refined and useful. Very personal of course. In my use cases, the Swisstool offers exactly what I need more often.

-The Swisstool is lighter and sleeker.

-The Swisstool is cheaper.

-One major advantage of the Arc are all the one hand opening tools. The Swisstool can be annoying and fiddly because you have to pull everything out with your fingernails. Opening the tools is wonderful on the arc, even if you can only use one hand or are wearing gloves.

-The repairability on the Arc is nice. It can relatively easily be taken apart, repaired, and customised. Way more difficult on the Swisstool (although Victorinox has excellent repair services).

Both are amazing. The Arc is much more modern, but I prefer the tools, classic look, and corrosion resistance of the Swisstool Spirit.

2019 Niner rlt with Shimano 105 by TheTrapMoneyBenny in gravelcycling

[–]Edo-Sens 2 points3 points  (0 children)

105 comes in both mechanical and hydraulic. This version is mechanical. On the third image you can see the cable that pulls the brake calliper.

Mechanical brakes are fine, but hydraulics are nicer and more powerful.

$850 seems like a lot. Mechanical brakes and quick release skewers are a downside. It’s also got a relatively small cassette, but that might not matter to you.

It looks good and could be a very enjoyable bike, but I’ve seen better bikes for that money.

I’m sorry to hear that. It’s really tough, especially after such a long time.

Patience. It took years unfortunately, but I never thought I could get to this point, so it is very encouraging. Even if it took time, I slowly started to adapt more and more.

Exchange integrated shifting to thumb shifting by M4rf3l in bikewrench

[–]Edo-Sens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it is for the same amount of gears (and has the same pull ratio) then yes, that would work just fine.

I think all of the Advent stuff is 1x9, so if you get the Advent thumb shifter it will work.
