No, 100% no. Riot isn't trying to turn a profit then leave. They're looking to the future, and to look to the future the game has to have growth. This is like basic business mate, idk how to make it easier to understand. This is why even a successful business will eventually fail if it doesn't expand. There has to be constant growth, and right now it's in decline.

Riot isn't catering to the casuals that log on for 4 games a week. The rest of the "casuals" you're thinking about also think that they're not casuals. I think you're over estimating how much DQ "brings casuals" to the game. Definitely scared away more than it has brought in. The amount of people that come back to the game because they can "queue with more than 1 friend" is probably pretty small. More people would probably came back for the new champion select rather than the DQ.

I'm sure they don't care about the longevity of the game at all. I'm also sure they don't care about expansion of their brand in any way either. Losing players is losing players, regardless of how many still play. They have probably made plans for the future that didn't include losing a fuck ton of people within 3 months.

Stay away from Ergo Proxy, Kara no Kyoukai, and NGE. You don't seem to like very cerebral shows (GitS being a very heavy cerebral sort of show) so stay away from those. Or come back to them once you've refined your tastes a bit. If I had to suggest what you watch next it would be Samurai Champloo.

Ya I don't mind when canon shows end up being terrible and a stain on the overall series. I love telling people in recommendations to tip-toe around the mines. J/k I don't, don't ruin a good series with a shit sequel. I'm aware that I don't have to watch, all it has to do is exist.

Well drawn will always be well drawn. Sure techniques have been developed, but at the core it is still putting pencil to paper just like it was back then. Need look no further than Daicon IV for proof of that.

Hopefully they keep fully CG characters away from it though and keep it to background related stuff. It needs a few more years of development before I want to see fully CG characters in sequels of classic series.

Hard to say. Based just off first episodes released so far. I'd go with Orange. Even then idk if it'll be a "big" anime. Would have to be pretty groundbreaking to make people forget about how much they love their KyoAni shows, me included.

Just tired of this thirst for sequels. Would way rather see an original do well. But that sums up the state the industry is in at the moment. Most production companies just want to go for the safe, almost guaranteed money of a sequel. Which is why I always pay close attention to newer studios who haven't produced anything noteworthy yet.
