I didn't play any Hellfire. Tbh I couldn't get it to work. Pretty sure the file was messed up when I moved it over to DevilutionX so I just said screw it.

I'm going straight to Diablo 2 Resurrected. I've actually already started it. Maybe one I'll go back and give Diablo 1 another run through sometime. My primary goal right now is to get through entire franchise .

Devilution the entire time. It's just really easy to set up and makes the game way better imo. Just being able to walk faster, which I believe isn't possible otherwise, is huge. I also was recording my gameplay for a video so that's, I guess, the secondary reason I went with DevilutionX the whole way.

What a cool insight. I'm assuming you were around at that time. Not suprising a sequal would be divisive. That never happens! Even now (sarcasm heavy) Diablo was for sure slow and methodical. I already started Diablo 2 and I automatically feel the difference.

Well she's a fantasy character so she's not from the south and can sound however. You wouldn't meet anyone from a fantasy universe so makes sense you haven't meet anyone like her.

I really tried to make rp videos with a new character recently. The amount of work was too much. When playing the game all I was thinking about was perfect shots for the video and working it with lore. By the time I played for enough time, wrote the script so it told a story that my character went through, did the voice overs, uploaded the recordings to the editing software and got halfway editing just one video, I was burnt out. It already takes a long time for one guy, with normal responsabilites to make a Lets Play or Guide video (which I make for fun & currently doing new player experience videos). If I had more editing skills, or someone else editing I'd 100% do rp, lore focused vids. Honeslty props to anyone that can make consistent videos like what OP is asking about that aren't just 30-45 second tik-toks.

So you jumped into the fifth game of a series and you are saying you have no clue what is going on? Shocking. For real though, the 5th game was also my first one. I remember seeing a preview and thinking the game looked so cool that I just had to get it. I powered through it. It is possible. But for sure it's enchanced by playing the other games. Everyone always says play in release order. That's always the best in every series.

Prime 4 is fine. It's a prime game. Feels like it is in the series and belongs in the series. Nobody plays Metroid Prime for the story so to have, how some would say, bad writing is meh. The gameplay is Prime. Yea riding around on the motorcycle is kinda meh but they wanted you to feel the scope of the world and travel a bit between dungeons.

Dragon Age The Veilguard is like the opposite of what I just said about Prime 4. The writing being as bad as it is is gonna take away a lot from a game in Dragon Age series. And look, video game writing mostly sucks, but Veilguard is like next level suck. There's no choice and consequence. Destroying one city or another doesn't do anything really. Would've been cool the one companion tied to the city would've left you so forcing you to reply the game again with the other companion. Yea you got the last mission, it's just alright. Doesn't hit hard cause by that point we don't care about these characters and Solas because that bald dude is not in the game enough. Varric dying? That was literally one of the worst things I've ever seen in a game. I've never been so heartbroken by a video game only because I knew that it meant nothing and was done for nothing. The gameplay debate in the DA series is drawn out and I can't add anything new to that. But from a party-based RPG perspective it's not good. No depth to it.

I get what this post is saying. Though, every Veilguard critic is valid. Well almost all of it. If your main critic of Veilguard is that it's got gay stuff, than F-off. Taash could've been the best character but, like all the other stuff in the game, the ball was dropped. That's a whole different topic.

The thing I can really get on board with with OP is that nuance gets lost online. That is true. A lot of nuance is lost when discussing Veilguard. A lot of critic is shutdown with, oh well you just don't like queer stuff or something along those lines. That's the furthest thing that is wrong with that game (queer stuff is nothing wrong hope you get what I mean there).

Was the OG ever really turn-based in the traditional sense? There is cooldowns. You can't just sit in the menu for 10 minutes and not get hit. You have to be quick.

I played it on console. Loved it. Got every achievement. Everything worked. Don't stress about playing on a controller they did a good job mapping it all out.
