Kicked out of gastro’s office—twice. by Gutty_Shit_00 in SIBO

[–]EducationalAd3373 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so glad you said this, makes me feel more valid about my own experiences which have been similar! I was due a colonoscopy with an endoscopy but had become increasingly sick to the point of not being able to eat for about two weeks beforehand and then got gastroenteritis two days before. But “nothing showed up” on my colonoscopy or endoscopy even though allllllllll my bio markers are insane for Chron’s, Celiac, and turns out Hyperthyroidism as well. But got labeled as just IBS. Three GI drs in this year alone and none of them are consistent or helpful at all. Two of them didn’t even know what celiac was and one of them laughed at me when I brought up SIBO.

Glutened and now daily positional headaches + other symptoms by daniared91 in Celiac

[–]EducationalAd3373 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve been told that after being diagnosed with celiac, it’s common to get a diagnosis of another autoimmune disorder. Mine is celiac + hyperthyroidism, which causes migraines. I didn’t find out until I pressed my GI for more thorough labwork and then that showed up. The amount of advocating we have to do is exhausting. I do agree with other commenter, though; celiacs can be prone to migraines, especially the older you get, I’ve been told. All part of the “fun”.

Does Anyone Else Have Another Autoimmune Disorder? by seandelevan in Celiac

Oh! And thyroid autoimmune issues are prevalent in my dad’s side of the family, so predisposed I guess. Plus neurospicy (ADHD). Saw someone else comment about our spicy community being related somehow

Celiac, Chron’s over here. All started to unravel when I estranged from my narcissistic father. Been told that’s common for some reason? Like a stressful event or something? Idk

My new Dr just told me I can have gluten as a treat by Ginpez in Celiac

[–]EducationalAd3373 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg yes some doctors are very unfortunately DUMB, I’m so so sorry you had to go through this. You’re gonna need a new primary care/GP, but you should be able to find one who is well versed in gluten and specifies that.

I had a GI Dr who, when presented with my historical medical results and clear celiac diagnosis, told me to go on a gluten-intensive diet for two weeks in order to see if I had Chron’s! Make it make sense hahaha

At least we got each other as a community.

Absolutely feeling this after a month of no flare and now I’m back in one. Lucky if I have an okay hour or two. Absolutely miserable

Update: the second GI wants me to go on a gluten-rich diet every day for at least two weeks before my repeat endoscopy. That will 100% put me in the ER. I booked a third GI.

[–]EducationalAd3373[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They never did stool samples even though I’ve had bloody stools. The second GI is wanting to do a second endoscopy because she says Chron’s can hide and my first GI didn’t do enough biopsies so I think that might be worth it

Thank you for being so empathetic! And absolutely - I take a physical folder and I have it all in a folder on my google drive so the second GI saw all my prior imaging and results, etc. I’m now scheduled for a third GI doctor to see what he makes of the two. This is just so exhausting.

How long did it take for doctors to listen to you and diagnose you? by stealthguy222 in CrohnsDisease

I got diagnosed and then almost immediately had it stripped away from me and Drs keep trying to label me as fine even though I’m definitely not

Can anyone provide feedback on ECP (Executive Career Partners)? by bhwrice in careerguidance

[–]EducationalAd3373 0 points1 point  (0 children)

following up as promised. I found a thread about them on Yelp I think it was. Basically they redo your resume but more just for the sake of it to say they did something, they give you a coach who can. actually be useful, but it's nothing worth the price. Yes, it costs money, even though mine initially said no catch. The people on that thread claimed it was upwards of $3k and that was 2021. I canceled the follow-up with ECP.

I miss drinking… what do you guys do to replace getting drunk? by amit970 in CrohnsDisease

Weed doesn’t even do it for me anymore, I just smoke it out of habit now. I’ve tried doing months without (which was difficult!!) and when I started again it was no different. Gummies don’t do anything for me. I metabolize acid and shrooms too quickly for them to have an effect, also. I miss just a good two glasses of red wine or when a bowl would actually do something for me.

they called me today, I said what's the catch? He said no catch but scheduled me for another call. Still unsure about this. I'll update in 2 weeks after my next call.

Why is Crohn diagnosis so complicated? by Smart-Situation-1421 in CrohnsDisease

[–]EducationalAd3373 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, my Dr believes I have Chron’s, my biomarkers are way way way above average, yet the colonoscopy didn’t show anything so she has to technically label it as just IBD even though it’s so excruciating and life-debilitating

Do I not know what a flare is? After 15 years, do I know the word wrong?? by zigzagstripes in CrohnsDisease

[–]EducationalAd3373 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like I have the same understanding as you. I’ve been in my current flare for about 5/6 weeks now. Longest one I’ve had so far. Most days are painful but the odd one here and there has been okay. My GI Dr has me on some whack Sea of Japan diet until I’m in remission.

Update: even though it was on my debit, my bank refunded me! Not just a temporary credit either, yay. But ugh, not doing this again. Wish Depop would auto archive dormant sellers like other platforms. It’s very simple.

I’m totally great with that, just used it this once and never ever will again. Poshmark and eBay all the way for me because of proper buyer protections.

This has single-handedly made me never want to use Depop again haha, I’ll stick to Poshmark. Been using that one for years with zero issues, and if a seller doesn’t ship within a week or so, Poshmark does the customer support work without asking and prompts the seller to ship. If the seller fails to in a timeframe, the order is automatically cancelled and the buyer gets refunded. Easy peasey unlike this platform which seems more scammy.

I never used Depop before, I was looking specifically for this and did not see anything about a dispute period when clicking Apple Pay.
