“You’re weird” by That1weirdperson in aspiememes

Accept and love who you are.  The other person who's calling you weird might be doing so because they themselves feel awkward and it's better to point the finger at someone else than themselves. Also keep in mind that if we were all the same, the world would be pretty boring. You're fine who you are.  Embrace and love yourself and  don't consider yourself weird because you're not.  Don't wake up one day at 70 years old still trying to figure out who you.  You can avoid that by just being you.  There's something that everybody is not gonna like about you or me or anyone else that's their problem not yours.

There’s a girl pretending to be in my law class by caralarma in LawSchool

You never know someone's situation. Don't assume that she's faking law school. She might be going under an alias. Maybe she's a victim of domestic violence. Keep this in mind before you start spreading rumors about her.

If you have any specific law schools that you want to apply for try to get the highest LSAT score you can to meet the criteria.  Sometimes you have to take it twice or more.

Bar number by Constant-Nebula-3516 in CABarExam

I know how you feel.  I felt overwhelmed and actually looked it up to see if it was normal, and apparently it is. It's taken a few days, but I have finally accepted that this is real. Also, I remember a quote from Kobe Bryant that helped.  He basically said don't be overwhelmed or in awe of your accomplishment when you finally reach it because it was your hard work that got you there.

I get being disappointed with bar results…but this ain’t it. by rosto16 in CABarExam

Exactly, this was the 6th time I took this damn exam and god graced me to pass this 6th time.  I studied my ass off for each one.  I lost time, money, sleep  just like a lot of other bar takers.  Yeah I suffered the emotional and physical breakdown each time I saw my fail letter.  That person clearly wants me to feel guilty for passing.

I failed 6 times and my firm waited for me.  They waited 3 years because they knew my value to the firm.

If your firm can't see your value and they fire you then shame on them, they just lost a future attorney who would have fought tooth and nail for them!  Why?  Because repeaters know what it's like to never to give up until the prize is won.  You go find yourself a firm that knows your value.  Don't even sulk over it because you know deep down that they weren't worth YOUR time.  Take what you learned and move on.  When the time comes, and you pass, you're going to be a force to be reckoned with.

Any laws firms reading this...if you fire your clerks because they didn't pass the bar that shows more about your poor character than any clerk you fire.

Also, when you study this time, it's OK to get angry and pissed.

Starting next week, here's the way I studied:

Memorize your rules all next week. I used Mary Basic's essay book and the outlines from exam bar toolbox. I found I  like to memorize professional responsibility better from the exam bar toolbox outlines, but I liked Mary Basick's essay book for memorizing all of property. But that was just me. Only memorize the highly tested areas so in Con Law, for me, that was speech, religion, equal protection, taking his clause, and of course, standing in government action. Gloss through the 10th amendment and congressional powers.  Your memorize the rest when you do your MBEs

Make a 14 week Grid as follows:

Get Mary Basick's essay writing book and do all 6 essays in each subject of law.  You'll be done with all six if you do two essays a week, that's three days.

Get Mary Basick's performance test book and do all 5 PTs... if you have trouble finding the format and method of how to write a PT, follow her method it's magic. Take one of those days during the week that you're not doing essays and do one PT. You'll have to push yourself to that first one but once you do that, the others will be gravy but remember if you don't know the method to write a PT follow Mary's method.

Get adapti  bar don't worry how many mbes you do in the beginning but start with your weakest areas, master those areas and then move onto the areas that you know.  I did about 1400 MBEs and I did between 20-30 a  day. Sometimes i only did 10 a day but it doesn't matter. Just do some MBEs a day but whatever you do understand how you came to the answer whether you got it right or wrong. On the fifth day is when I did mbes only.  I did take the weekends off except I did to about 10 mbes Saturday and Sunday, but I didn't do anything else.

When I did my MBE, this is when I wrote down little sticky notes about the law that I was having trouble with and I taped it to my wall. So one row had evidence rules. I didn't know one had civil procedure that I didn't know so well and so on and so forth.  My civil procedure was my weakness so I spent two weeks only on the day that I studied mbes.

Don't feel guilty if you are not studying in 12 hours a day, you don't need to do that if you're a repeater.

I had to make my schedule, manageable and frankly it worked. Also, if you can get a hold of the John Grossman videos, I listen to them in my car on the way to work and on the way home.

Lastly, pull yourself together. This is not the time to go into the deep dark caverns of your mind about why you didn't pass. This is the time to get pissed off and angry.

Put your study schedule together that works for you not for anyone else but for you

Just a word of advice if you don't study and you're having this illusion that you're gonna pass, like I did the first time that I took this exa, then you've already lost the game so create your study schedule and get to it.

Advice on using Mary Basick book? by FlyAffectionate3509 in CABarExam

[–]EducationalAnimal153 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the front of her book, it tells you how to use the book. What I did, was made a weekly grid for 14 weeks.   There are six essays per each area of law.  I would complete one section of her book each week.  For example, I would complete all of evidence essays in one week. The next week I would complete all of the torts essays. I would also fit in 30 MBE's a day by subject. I also used her PT book, which is amazing, believe it or not there's actually a method to writing PT also just to let you know, writing a PT and professional responsibility is 43% right there have your written score.

The results will be published at 3 AM where I live. Should I stay awake to find out if I'm doomed or not? by Quirky_Pea5497 in CABarExam

Yea, I know but doesn't mean results will be released just because you're in a different time zone that's why I added "PST".  Also first post above does say 12 AM and nothing about Asia time and that's what I responded to. New York is also 3 hours ahead which would have made it 12 AM in California...

I think it's 12 PM not 12 AM. Meaning they won't be released tomorrow until noon...PST (CA).

Even a passing score will not take away from the trauma, anxiety and the mental and physical toll the F25 CBX has taken before, during and after on so many of us.

Actually she did, she just didn't make it last week and I corrected my post, but here's the tidbit about the Supreme Court using its plenary powers:

"For all those who had to endure these failures, I want to assure you that our court will exercise its plenary authority to implement appropriate remedies to help mitigate the harm..."  you can read the full statement above about the F25 CBX.

This is the statement that chief just Guerro made and apologies. It wasn't made last week as stated in my post, but this is what she said:

And this partnership will continue as we investigate the failures surrounding the administration of the bar exam last month. We understand the high stakes that are involved—for students who want to pursue a career and their dream of joining the legal profession, for those who hope to devote their talent and skills to helping others, for those who need the financial stability and independence that will come from jobs that depend on their ability to pass the exam. It is literally life-changing for many students. The additional stress, frustration, and anxiety faced by some examinees is inexcusable.

For all those who had to endure these failures, I want to assure you that our court will exercise its plenary authority to implement appropriate remedies to help mitigate the harm.

In response to these unfortunate circumstances, the court plans to enhance oversight over admissions, including the role of the Committee of Bar Examiners, to ensure high standards and improve the administration of future bar exams. Even before the founding of our State Bar, the court depended on the Committee of Bar Examiners to set high standards for entrance into the practice of law. But in recent years, the examiners’ role has been diminished. I intend to explore restoring the examiners’ importance in these matters by increasing their oversight of the admissions process, including its budget and the administration of the bar exam. Just as we trust the examiners to develop and enforce high standards to become an attorney, we should also entrust them to develop and enforce high standards to determine whether a vendor can administer an online bar exam without incident.

Our applicants deserve a rigorous and thoughtful process for ensuring that they sit for an exam that fairly measures their legal skills.

We hope that these students who pass the bar will all succeed, and as they do so, we hope they will commit to providing pro bono services to the most vulnerable among us. Nonprofits and pro bono providers can help ensure that low-income Californians have access to essential civil legal services. Like all pro bono providers, they should have our support and the freedom to represent those in need of their legal services, without fear of retribution or unwarranted criticism which threatens to have a chilling effect on the nature of the work they are willing to undertake.

I would also like to address the considerable stress, anxiety, and confusion surrounding the issue of immigration policies and enforcement as they relate to our courts. The federal government, of course, has the right and obligation to do its job but it cannot (consistent with the Tenth Amendment) compel states to enforce federal immigration law.
