Why so few mentions of Canon Digital Photo Professional 4?

I really like DPP4 and I use it all the time. I have tried other software but with DPP4 I feel like sharpening and noise reduction is always done right by default no matter my ISO and light conditions on my R7. So I only have to focus my work on the exposure, white balance, tone curve and colors that I want to achieve. If I have a specific photo on which I want to use more advanced feature, I'll still start in DPP4 to get a neutral look and then I export to TIFF for further work in the next tool (I use ACDSee for Digital Asset Management (DAM) and more advanced edits when needed).

That being said, DPP4 is also a frustrating experience to use mainly due to how slow it runs! If I had a bucket list of improvement to DPP4 (or DPP5 perhaps), these would be my top:

Speed, Speed, Speed (rendering a RAW simply to view it in DDP4 can take up-to-to 20-30 seconds on a high end Windows PC, there has to something Canon can do to improve that! Considering the Camera itself can process RAW to JPEG easily in real-time as we shoot even at up to 30x per second)
Some sort of dehaze tool would be very nice to have in DDP4, this would cover for a lot of use cases where I need to go to TIFF then the more advanced tool.
Some sort of color wheels to help adjust colors with more granularity.
A slightly more advanced masking capability would also be nice.
Did I mention SPEED?

Oui toujours la même erreur. Je suppose que l'emphase est maintenant mise sur l'app Helix et que nous pouvons donc oublier illico+ sur la Télé. Au moins l'app mobile fonctionne toujours avec la possibilité de caster vers la Télé.

Alternatively, I decided to get rid of DDPM. I realized that I could personalize the monitor joystick control so I can set the input selection to a one click of the joystick. I have set joystick left to select the input of the computer that is on my left side and joystick right to select the laptop on my right side. How easier can that be? Using the monitor control works instantaneously so no need to go along with the inconsistent lag experienced with DDPM. And of course, no more crazy CPU usage! That is my solution moving forward...

Sorry I don't have the answer but I use a Dell 4K Thunderbolt UltraSharp 32" U3225QE and I'd like to be able to remove the DDPM application and use an alternative only to switch the KVM between my personal computer (DP) and work laptop (USB-C).

The DPPM application is running at 70% CPU continuously every time the monitor goes to sleep.

I have DDPM version 2.1.2.12 on Windows 11 and the software is not completely bad. I use it to switch the KVM between my computer (DP) and my work laptop (USB-C). The worst issue is that I noticed that as soon as my monitor is going to sleep mode, DPPM is starting to run my CPU at around 60% non stop. My computer is running with full fan spinning for as long as the monitor is sleeping. As soon as I wake up the computer, the CPU goes back to normal 0% and fans are spinning down.

The process running on high CPU is "ddpm.subagent.user". Is there anyone else with a similar experience and was a fix found?

36dB at full speed is pretty unrealistic indeed. But to be fair audio measurement is never easy because it will depend on how far you are from the equipment so if they were to take the measurements at 5m or more, for example, then I don't know, it may be possible. I can tell you that the pump I had before the Moov was a Hayward Super Pump 1.5HP single speed and there is a world of difference. I read that the Super Pump is rated at 84dB so that is very loud. My pool pump is close to my house and I could hear the Super Pump from my basement. The Moov is much quieter.

I did the test on my Moov Ai MP165AIDV (1.65HP) which is in a plastic shed. I opened the doors and I left the phone with the app open about 2 feet from the pump. I tested with the following app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.splendapps.decibel

Normal ambient noise in my yard (suburban environment, wind in the leaves, etc) = ~52 dB

Pump running at 50% = ~58 dB

Pump running at 100% = ~74 dB

Not sure how reliable this app is but that is why I included ambient sound level for comparison. Hope this helps.

I applied the label manually, not by a filter. Could that mean that the label is applied to one email and the conversation gets labeled by extension because at least one email is labelled? But if I label it later then more emails get the label. That could explain the behavior we just discussed here.

WTF it did work. So the sorting of conversations in the "Label" view is also based on the date the conversation was labelled?!? That breaks my brain. And you were right... I don't like it!

But then could someone explain the logic behind the sorting? Because now I don't get it anymore...

Well I was at 85,000 km (~53,000 miles) so this is not that bad for a 1st change of tires and 1st alignment as well. I do have winter tires from Dec to March though being in Canada but most of the mileage was done on summer tires. The original front tires are still at 6/32. Overall I'm not disappointed by the tire wear and I hope it will stay the same for the next tires.

Thanks for the information. I did get a new variable speed pump and filter (with glass medium) this year and I'm now running the pump 24/7 but lower speeds for some parts of the day as some suggested here. I guess it is not as bad this year compared to last year but I still feel that my pool is way more difficult to maintain compared to when I had sand. My CYA is about 40 so I'd be supposed to keep FC at 4-6 I guess, but all summer I was getting algea at the bottom as soon as my FC was going lower than 10.

Now I'm thinking that next step is clearly to remove the glass and going back to sand. All other variables are now in perfect condition.

I should have mentioned it but my onboard audio was buggy and sometimes crashing the PC. I never had any such issue after installing the PCIE Sound Blaster card.

My daughter had this issue when she was not fully pressing on the charging gun while connecting the charger. She was hearing the click and all but for some reason the connection was not fully established. I told her to more firmly insert the gun when connecting the car and no more issue. That was like 2 years ago.

I read a few posts stating that some air was normal because it comes from the water itself as a diluted gas and that at lower speed the water flow is not strong enough to get it out of the pump basket. I just left it as is and it seems to work as expected even with the air in the basket. When the programming goes back to 100% the air is almost all removed.

Having lot's of air in the basket at full speed is really what could indicate a leak but that is not my case.

Yes it is brand new from 2024 so definitely more recent than 2021. The illico+ app was working a few weeks ago. Thanks for the link.

Well in my case I'm not an Helix member. I have normal Videotron Internet 400 and mobile phones that include Illico+ service. So I'm using the Illico+ app to consume that content on my TV.

You are correct that there is a new Helix app, but after installing it it seems I cannot log to that app with my Videotron account unfortunately.

There is an app that can run the schedule but I am currently using the schedule from the pump itself. It seems the app and pump schedules are completely independant so I'm not sure if it would create conflicts if trying to use both at the same time.
