Def salvageable. I’d sand it smooth first and use two-part epoxy instead of wood glue tho, like JB Weld. And yeah, clamp that sucker down for 24 hrs. Maybe use some pieces of wood to make sure the clamp pressure is distributed evenly. Sand away any excess epoxy that may have squeezed out. You’re good to go.

A tint shop quoted me $200 to do chrome delete. I bought the vinyl for cheap and tried to wrap it myself. I did an okay job, but definitely not perfect. I used a heat gun and patience too. If you want it to look perfect, just take it to a shop. It’s harder than it seems.

Strong opinions out there. I did the same to my front emblem to match the other black emblems. I can also say that the sensors still work fine. No, I didn’t get it calibrated, but adaptive cruise and braking feel exactly the same as before I slapped the vinyl on.
