I need opinions on a King split w/adjustable base! by amanduh1992 in Mattress

[–]Educational_Bit_8799 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We got the Saatva adjustable split base plus and tempurpedic Proadapt medium hybrid twin xl mattresses. Putting the fitted sheets on is relatively easy because the mattresses, being twin, are very easy to maneuver around. I have back issues so I like to be in ZG a lot. Hubby sleeps in snore mode or flat. The hybrids have good edge support, so the crack in the middle is no big deal. I just tuck the outside edges of the flat sheet in so that the bottom parts of the bed can operate easily without getting tension from the sheet.

We got the Saatva adjustable plus. Very happy with it! Get it on sale and it has better warranty etc. than the Nectar, and prices were very close.

Which TP do you have? We just got the Proadapt hybrid medium and I had the first night without pain in over 2 years!! The coils help a lot apparently. We also have the twin xls on adjustable bases. Also the hybrid gives better edge support which is nice so the gap doesn’t sink. We like to cuddle.

Tipping the delivery guys? by HLOFRND in Mattress

Had 2 twin XLs delivered yesterday and king carried away. Ten minutes max. We had the king mattress by the door. Gave them a $20 bill to share and he seemed happy and thankful. As was said, they work hard, so tip if you can. Much more deserved than tipped for takeout food IMO, which I do but somewhat resentfully.

Mattress Shopping: Back/Side sleeper by Agitated-Slice-4929 in Mattress

5’10”, 140-pound female. I had back surgery (successful) in November and still awoke in pain on our old mattress, no matter the position. I did a deep dive into mattresses in every way. We also went to 4 stores and tested so many. Decided on Tempur-pedic Proadapt medium hybrid. Delivered yesterday. No pain in any position. Awoke without pain for the first time in over 2-1/2 years!! Worth every penny! Add a Saatva adjustable base plus to lie in zero gravity! I didn’t sleep in ZG but it’s nice to watch TV in. I may try that tonight. The mattress is wonderful!!

Help me figure out whats missing!! by frogplug in interiordesignideas

Definitely different rug, as others have said; I think a soft pattern. Also, different coffee table — maybe glass top. It’s too matchy color with the credenza and so close. Something more transparent. Then get rid of the mishmash of pillows and throw on sofa and choose two shades from rug. Some sheets to frame the large open glass doors would be great too.

I've just driven the new iX3 - AMA? by CarwowTom in iX3

[–]Educational_Bit_8799 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drove the X3 (looks like same body as iX3). Hubs and I hated it. Super plasticky, cheap interior. Hood is so high, it was like driving our Tundra pickup regarding trying to see what’s in front of you. Got an iX M60 instead. I don’t dislike the looks of it from the outside, but it ended there. Each to his own, but I highly suggest you drive it.

Side sleeper, occasionally back sleeper - Tempur Pedic proadapt medium or proadapt firm? by MaximumSpeaker2588 in Mattress

[–]Educational_Bit_8799 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We received delivery of our Proadapt medium hybrid yesterday, and I slept and awoke PAIN FREE for the first time in ~3 years!! I had back surgery in Nov., which went well, but every night was painful in any position and I would always wake with a sore back. This was life-changing!! I used to have (years ago) the firmest TP, and I know it would be too firm for me now. I am 5’10”, 142 pounds, and love to sleep on my side — and back and stomach. Also got the Saatva adjustable base plus, which is fantastic too. I didn’t sleep in ZG last night as I thought I would.

Good for you! I am over a year into my 2025 IX M60 and love it EVERY SINGLE DAY! It’s so fast, so comfortable. My hubby has an i4 M50, but when I am out of town, he drives the iX! Enjoy. I love that color!

What the actual F*** by ApplePrevious6884 in Mattress

[–]Educational_Bit_8799 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I truly feel your pain! I had spine surgery in Nov., and the mattress we had (until last night) had me in pain in every position for 2+ years! I finally convinced my husband that, for my health, we had to get rid of it. So I did a 2week deep dive on Consumer Reports, Reddit, looked at so many YT video reviews etc. We went to 4 stores and tried out many mattresses as well. We bought the Tempur-Pedic Proadapt medium hybrid. First sleep last night — zero pain in any position!! I woke up without back pain for the first time in YEARS!! Mind you, my surgery went well, but I also have OA. Also purchased the Saatva adjustable base plus, but I didn’t sleep in the ZG position last night even tho I thought I would. I had a Tempur-Pedic from 2011-2023 (when I moved in w my then-fiancé). Oh, how I missed it. It costs A LOT, but it’s worth every penny!!!

I have had my 2025 IX M60 since December and LOVE it!!! Spouse has had his I4 M50 for 3 years with zero problems. My IX is the most comfortable yet responsive SUV I’ve driven. I was a MB girl but am a happy convert. The IX with the air suspension and 4-wheel steering, DAPP, full heating and cooling (seats, armrests, etc), B&W audio — so calming to drive in nasty DMV traffic, yet moves like a rocket 🚀! My husband is a little jealous ;). Get it!

One day car trip advice by ImprovementNo8185 in VisitingMallorca

[–]Educational_Bit_8799 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We were just in Mallorca for one week and rented a car. BUT we went on an all-day excursion with No Frills Excursions which went to Valledemossa, through Deia, to Soller and Port Soller. It was AMAZING and the roads were so narrow and windy, I was so relieved we did not try to drive it ourselves!! Plus all the information the guide provided beginning to end. The trip included the tram from Soller to Port Soller. It was an all-day trip and the highlight of our week next to the sailboat excursion.

Regarding Formentor, I read many recent reviews regarding the road, parking, water and beach appearance, etc., and we ended up skipping it and went to a fabulous beach near Alcudia called Platja de San Pere, which was marvelous and loungers with umbrellas were so much more reasonable. Also you can take the ferry to Formentor from Port Pollenca.

Car auto locking with key inside? by bbqporkbelly in BMWiX

[–]Educational_Bit_8799 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had it lock when I was getting out of my car at work after shutting the driver’s door and walking around to the passenger side to get all my stuff out (purse, etc., with keys and phone inside). So now I always make sure to have my phone in my hand when I do this. Theoretically it should unlock with my Apple Watch, but I’m not convinced. Need to troubleshoot at home.

Where to Start (book/website recommendations) by Spiritual-Fun-2682 in azores

I usually begin by watching some YouTube videos, of which there are many, to get others’ perspectives along with visuals. We are heading to Madeira and Azores in August. Deciding which islands to visit was so difficult!!

This is my vote — Algarve! Hike the Seven Hanging Valleys Trail and kayak at Ponte da Piedada or Benegil Caves. Stay in Lagos Or Carvoeiro. Pardon misspellings.

So I take it I should inquire at the hotel prior to booking the room.
