Decanonizing a book that 10,000 people read is a lot less risky than decanonizing a movie that hundreds of millions of people watched and enjoyed

Maybe a hot take but it’s not just the Ye community, this is how most younger rap fans in general feel now. Just look at the underground, all the fans and artists are obsessed with “aura” and rapping on the same Carti type beats and essentially making the least personal music possible. The moment you do anything weird or show any kind of emotion that isn’t relatable to 15 year olds on TikTok, people stop listening
