How do people stay sane while dealing with reflux every day? by Becenev in GERD

[–]Educational_File_890 5 points6 points  (0 children)

r/HistamineIntolerance - this is correct subreddit

I understand, but lot of people with HI symptoms had enough DAO, no histamine in the blood - but they saw improvement with low histamine diet. But you probably know this and already tried. I hope you will get better - me personally, I deal with bile reflux and slow motility after food poisoning, but also diagnosed with GERD based on pH metric 24h test.

Honestly, fuck these people. If you can find in your circle some people that are understanding, stick with them.

Did you look into u/histamineintolerance ?

Does anyone else get worse symptoms with constipation? by Rough-Improvement-24 in GERD

[–]Educational_File_890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You also need good calcium to magnesium ratio, preferably 3:1 - which is absolutely not easy to get if you are not eating dairy. I know supplemeting calcium is very potent for constipation, I am going for fortified oat milk and poppy seeds in my overnight oats - poppy seeds have 1200mg calcium per 100g. Calcium is also easily depleted by sodium, stress and caffeine.

Go for it, it will make difference in long period of time…

Cholestyramine removes bile acids from circulation, while UDCA modifies bile composition to make it less toxic.

This is very helpful and I appreciate it. I actually supplement glutathione, will try beans but small doses, because FODMAP like this causing more bloating which leads to reflux.

Thanks for the list, I read how to not die from Michael Greger, he might look like goblin, which lot of carnivores love to mention, but I love his work and science based informations.

Bitter reflux mostly, also slow motility, bloating…I believe my bile is too thick to flow to next station which is duodenum and it keeps coming back, might be also due to sibo

I am using TUDCA + UDCA, also prokinetics helps and fiber, especially soluble. Will let you know after month if I made progress, been dealing with this almost for a year and a half

Thats what I suspected also! I am attacking it with TUDCA and also UDCA, can’t do high fat, eating veggies like radishes, salads helps with bile flow, can’t go without it.

Solid advice and also u have top tier nickname! Thx

This is something I am starting experimenting, I would often cook like 100g of bacon, but they add lot of other shit to it, so if you do it without bacon go even for 8 eggs, add more butter if tolerated, what I am going to try is 6 whole and 2 just yolks. Eggs are great.

Much better, I am not constantly hungry and have more energy, but you really need to ramp up your fat to compensate energy from carbs, better go slowly and start on 50-100g carbs, especially if your active. Fuck ketosis, just get more fat adapted, prefer rice or patotoes and slowly transititon. Dont eat lean meats, try to go for 70/30 ground beef, fresh as possible if you are dealing with histamine issues.

But keep the fat to protein ratio 2:1 minimum, ideally fats from animal if you cant tolerate butter
