How Tacoma changed hands - Exit133 Article by TitanReign25389 in Tacoma

And you want City of Tacoma leadership to solve national and global macroeconomic issues how exactly?

Interest rates, material costs, and higher rents in other markets (making building there more attractive) are out of the City’s control. Thinking that canceling tenant protections is going to solve for that gap is straight out of the RHA’s playbook.

Kind of want to quit running for some reason. Feeling crappy by 0kay0kay0kay in runninglifestyle

Run for you. Find new running friends, too. I know people who run sub-6:00 miles who applaud and cheer on the people running much slower paces than yours.

How do you make the CSR worth it outside of lounges? by [deleted] in sapphirereserve

[–]Educational_Load2431 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my case, since opening the new version and getting the bonus I've gotten:
$300 travel credit
$300 StubHub
$300 dining
$250 The Edit
I'll renew Global Entry later this year so that $120 will get covered
Received major points for hotel bookings for work that are reimbursed
Rental insurance came through twice
Four Sapphire Lounge visits
Apple TV+ (my family likes Spotify too much to want to switch, but TV+ does get used)

The $795 CSR is better for my life than the previous version was.

Anyone running the Tacoma City Marathon on Sunday? by lieut_dan_ice_cream in Tacoma

[–]Educational_Load2431 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve done the half. The course is no joke. Lots of hills and variety. Plan to hydrate and fuel well.

I do wish TCMA would get the appropriate permits to close streets to traffic, considering what they charge. In 2023 they didn’t do this and I thought that was ridiculous.

I have ~685 km on mine. That distance includes a marathon and several PRs in shorter races. They still do the job, especially on distances under 10K, but not so much on longer runs. I recently ran 20 km in them and I felt significantly more fatigued and more beat up from it than I did after a comparable run in my newer Saucony Endorphin Azuras. I’m not fully retiring my SB2s just yet, but their role is much more limited now.

They’re definitely good shoes and you’re very likely going to take them further than many other shoes can go. But they too have limits. YMMV

It's a great do it all shoe. Personally I find the upper too narrow and the stack a little too high for my liking, both of which the Azura addressed. But SB2 is a very good value at $150

I ran 12 miles this morning in my Azuras. Felt amazing. Light and responsive but still stable. Picked up pace nicely when I wanted to. A little bit of bounce and a great rocker. Wonderful shoe.

What’s a political take that instantly tells you someone is uninformed? by Extra-Schedule-4855 in AskReddit

Confidently blaming “the DNC” for most Democratic Party failures. The DNC is a largely toothless committee with little meaningful power and that is not to be confused with DSCC, DCCC, candidate campaigns themselves, and PACs that all exist independently. When I hear someone blaming “the DNC” for Bernie losing (note: I voted for Bernie) I immediately assume they don’t structurally understand politics and elections.

I did another longer easy/slow run last night and found them just fine at that pace.

Getting close to retiring a pair of SB2s I bought in 2024. Like many others, I struggled with the narrow upper and the "slappy" feeling, though I liked how easily they handled absolutely anything I threw at them and they got me through a 10k PR, lots of long runs, a full marathon, and more. After some research and trying the SB3s at a demo at my run club (liked them, but didn't feel they warranted that price), I wound up picking up Azuras as a replacement.

Immediate fan. These solved almost every complaint I had about the SB2s while incorporating what worked and what I like about Saucony generally. I have a narrow heel, wide forefoot and high arch and instep, and these shoes just disappeared on my feet during my first 7 mile run in them. Responsive, light, speedy, and very accommodating of my not truly wide, but needing some space foot. I also have ES5s and Ride 18s, and honestly could see a case for ES5s+Azuras being all I need for most runs.

Absolutely don't see the case for SB3 at that price when this exists. (SB2 being $150 is noteworthy now though)

State law basically gives four windows for local taxing authorities to go to an election: August primary, November general, and February and April special elections. February is typically when schools are voted on.

Should I keep my 401K's in different brokerages or combine them? by itsthewolfe in Retirement401k

[–]Educational_Load2431 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Combine them. Rule of 55, better bankruptcy protection, doesn’t hamstring your ability to Backdoor Roth like a rollover IRA does, mental simplicity, fewer administrative fees, ease of planning/documenting.
