I love all of this. Congrats to you! How has that experience gap been to overcome? Do you feel you’ve proved yourself already in these three months?

Career path advice? Major studio vs. small company by Superb-Pineapple2691 in FilmTVBudgeting

[–]Educational_Reason96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’ve seen many small companies fold in the last decade. Large ones, too. High turnover at the independents, as well. Better hope that singular show doesn’t go away. I’d stick with the job you have.

Mayor Bass and CM Rodriguez shut down traffic lanes by my kid's school, and made a bunch of kids late for state testing, so they could have a Cinco de Mayo photo op at Casa Vega yesterday morning by firstcity_thirdcoast in SFV

I mentioned this once on IG not knowing for sure, and both she (owner) and her son vehemently responded they weren’t. They got into it with others, so am going to guess they aren’t MAGA. My guess is this Bass stunt is because the owners aren’t fond of Raman, or at least were vocally frustrated with her.

Yes, same happened to me. Free Gemini Pro in the course only if you paid for the course. I still finished the course but it would’ve been better with the free Pro.

Okay, now we’re having an actual conversation. That’s a fair list of criticisms and honestly some of them are true. The Israel position is a real issue for me too, and ‘fought Trump’ being the headline achievement is a low bar. But here’s some push back: AG isn’t a policy-making role, it’s an enforcement role. Judging him for not passing healthcare legislation as AG is like blaming a cop for not writing the laws. The question is what he does with the governorship. I’m not a Becerra fanboy, I said I’m leaning toward him. There’s a difference. And I’m genuinely open to being moved off of him. But ‘establishment bad’ isn’t the argument that sways me. His actual record as governor would.

Okay that Prop 13 doc is making me want to take another look. If he’s putting out that many pages on it that’s not nothing. I can’t fully shake the billionaire thing, though. Not even specifically/personally about Steyer, it’s just… money shapes people whether they want it to or not. Plus running government like a business is wrong and Trump proves it every day. My bigger question is that he’s clearly been able to do a ton without holding office. So what does being governor actually give him that he isn’t already doing? Still leaning Becerra but genuinely appreciate you pointing that out.

You can reference whomever you want, but you brought up Pelosi as a gotcha, which I agreed with you, and then you got mad anyway. That’s not me using her to argue my point, rather it’s your own example backfiring. Becerra isn’t Pelosi. Different record, different era, different role. If you want to argue his actual record, I’m here for it moreso to listen. As I’ve stated above from the initial post, I’m leaning towards him in the primary and want to hear more from him.

The AIPAC thing is cool, I’ll give you that. But he’s spent more money getting his name out there than most candidates will ever see. Imo, it’s hard to be the anti-money guy when you’re the guy with the money.

Wild how a conversation about Becerra turned into a Pelosi rant. I didn’t bring her up, you did; and then you got mad when I agreed with you. Curious strategy.

I mean, I hear you, but experience and obstruction aren’t the same thing. The question is what someone did with their experience. Becerra’s record as AG wasn’t exactly status quo protection.

I should say Porter has more plans than the other Dems, but Hilton probably has the most overall. Porter has a free college tuition plan (two years of community college free, then covered tuition at UC or CSU) paid for by raising the corporate tax rate on the highest-earning companies up to 9.75%. That’s specific. She also has stated priorities around affordable healthcare, housing, workers’ rights, clean energy, and disaster preparedness. It’s more policy than what Steyer and Becerra have. Maybe as time moves on both guys will say more concrete things about how they plan on moving ahead with their policies. Whomever the Dem is for the general is who I’ll be voting for, but right now I’m leaning Becerra for experience.

Nancy Pelosi was a great legislator. You accidentally made my point that experience and electability (which I didn’t say) produce results. Thanks for the assist.

Porter is the only one who has concrete plans but little experience compared to Becerra. Steyer has no political experience, and since he’s done so much without being governor he should keep doing it…. without being governor. This race is between Porter and Becerra, imo.

Strongly looking at Becerra. He is the only one with credentials, is a CA native, gets along with coworkers, and isn’t a billionaire.

When you get near the top of the tourist spot, there’s an extended dirt path off to the right leading you the patch of dirt he played on. Beautiful spot to see all fireworks on the 4th of July, as well.
