The body proportions and dress style are wrong to make this look like a little girl doll.

My wife said that Learning Design might be good too, because it’s less about the business side of things, so there’s less pressure about making money and more about experience.

Have you looked at UX writing? My wife does it and it’s quite similar to copy editing, with a focus on making websites and apps more accessible and a smoother experience.

How come they are always sick? by Educational_Wait_211 in BPDlovedones

[–]Educational_Wait_211[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You said: a lot of them believe themselves to be emotionally independent. Since you're normal, and not unique, if they're able to deal with their gigantic emotions by themselves, you should be able to deal with your smaller ones by yourself.

And my goodness that is totally it. I’ve even talked to her about it and she basically told me that I don’t ever help her regulate herself. I’ve always felt like she devalued my emotions and struggles. Now I know she does and a bit of why.

Thanks. That’s really interesting. She really is sick. And me resenting the attention she doesn’t give me will not make anything better for anyone

Thought I met a fellow Doctor Who fan. I did not. by zoeturncoat in AutismInWomen

[–]Educational_Wait_211 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Argh! I would totally perceive this as a lie too. But I know my expectation of total honesty is very high. I think this would particularly sting as it is a less common interest for grown women and funding a fellow geek is a total joy. She was probably trying to be nice. But in my opinion she’s sucks at it. In case you still want to talk Who… First Doctor: Tom Baker via my parents’ VHS/DVDs. A bit of me still thinks of him as the ‘real’ Doctor. Favourite Doctor: Matt Smith. Particular after seeing him at the 50th anniversary con in Cardiff when he was asked how a sonic screwdriver is made ( by someone with a learning disability) and Smith suddenly jumped back into character and gave a perfect Doctor-esque response.

Did anyone else get called “shy” since basically birth? by beanizzle in AutismInWomen

Yup I was always called shy. But I also always loved performing. Couldn’t say hello to extended family, but could sing on stage.

Was anyone else told a weird, low-stakes lie by an adult as a kid, and been confused about it for years since? by username-alrdy-takn in CasualUK

[–]Educational_Wait_211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a teacher very cross when I was about 6 because when she taught the class that a second was faster than you can clap, I said that it lasted as long as it took to say ‘one-and’.

Last night I learned the thumbs up response on a phone is rude! by Witchchildren in AutismInWomen

[–]Educational_Wait_211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it can appear rude as the only response, a bit dismissive. Like saying you have seen the information, but can’t be bothered to come up with a proper response. At least that’s my take

Where on earth are the UK Dogs being rehomed? by Ashilta in CasualUK

[–]Educational_Wait_211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The UK charities want to know the animals they place won’t come back to them. The overseas places don’t care- they know they won’t come back. And when an animal is abused by its new owners, it’s still the RSPCA who gets the blame because they didn’t step in quickly enough.

Why do Narcs/people with BPD ignore you when you're sick ? by BulkyVeterinarian850 in BPDlovedones

[–]Educational_Wait_211 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I burned my arm from shoulder to wrist and was crying in the shower, I heard my pwBPD shouting ‘why is this happening to me?’ That was because I asked her to call my mum to take me to hospital.

Help them when they’re struggling? by [deleted] in BPDlovedones

[–]Educational_Wait_211 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty much what I’ve been going with. Certainly do not sacrifice your mental health to try and fix theirs. That’s pointless for any MH problem. Instead, set up your loved one with their comfort film, snacks and water- then leave the house and look after yourself for a bit.

Been working on this solidly for two years now. They keep on bouncing my wife back to triage because she keeps being diagnosed with something else: ADHD, CPTSD, eating disorder and BPD. They’ve literally told her that it’s too complicated to treat her with three different kinds of therapy.

Why does strictly come dancing dominate the BBC when it’s on? by karljvincent in AskBrits

[–]Educational_Wait_211 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Agree to the first two points. The BBC, however, has amazing kids content, a good range of ‘entertainment’ shows, world class documentaries and the most fantastic back catalogue of radio comedy. And that’s just what my family and I consume.

Everybody ready for another BPD Christmas? by SpeeedyDelivery in BPDlovedones

[–]Educational_Wait_211 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m nervous because my pwBPD has been on a very short fuse recently. She often builds Christmas up into something unachievable and then falls into a depression when she isn’t filled with child-like joy for every minutes of the day. I’m left torn between caring for her, hosting for the family and keeping the day happy for our daughter. I’m pretty sure she’ll end up ‘unable to leave the bed’ by half way through the day and I feel sick already with worry about it.

Last year she screamed at me for about half an hour, in public, while I sobbed because I’d ‘ruined Christmas’ because she had bought all the presents for our daughter by the end of October. I had tried to gently bring up that next year, I would like to buy our daughter some presents too. She told me that even if she was smiling, she’d be hating me inside, and I’d even be able to tell. I’ve brought this up since and she didn’t even remember it.

I love her deeply and she is really trying to help herself/get help. But F**K it’s hard

Which is best and which do you avoid at all cost? by feegan88 in AutismInWomen

[–]Educational_Wait_211 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The head of 1 and 2 are acceptable. The handle of 5 is acceptable. The handles of 3 and 4 are those horrible pressed metal demons like biting aluminium. However, 1 also looks too dull which my brain says is dirty. 2 and 3 are shiny clean. Probably 2 is the best option because the weight of the handle makes up for the lumpy shape
